As a NSH fan, I'd 100% do that.

I would not trade DeBrincat for a bottom pair defenseman and a late first.

Preds have no need for Debrincat, and they aren’t giving OTT near enough here. Doesn’t work for either team

That’s just uncharitable. Carrier is mid-pairing material.

Not really an enticing package that gets the Sens closer to the playoffs next year

No need for debrincat? Have you seen the forwards in Nash top 6? 2 geezers on bad deals. The trade is a bad one for Ottawa but Nashville should be over the moon for that one

Nobody is going to give up good nhlers for a guy with a 9 mil QO 1 year away from UFA. Best the sens can do is recoup some assets and trade it elsewhere

The Sens need to get closer to a playoff spot. They’re not moving Debrincat for like the 29th pick and Filip Zadina equivalent . Be serious

I am being serious, the sens have no leverage in this. The only move that keeps them close to a spot is debrincat accepting the QO and going to UFA

Top 6 in NSH - Novak, Glass, Forsberg, Duchene, Evangelista, Parssinen (I think he switches to LW)

It’s a young unit, and we even have more guy coming up on the wings. Taking away playing sports from these young players, especially during a retool, is stupid.

And giving it to a player who has scored 40 goals twice in the past (keeping in mind that the Preds have awful scoring depth) is also stupid?

Maybe he’s not the best fit, but that logic is absurd

I think it’s clear that the Preds aren’t the team to be loading up for next year. Trading away high quality picks is crazy. There just no need here at all, especially if Trotz wants another year of this retool

Edmontons first rounder will be late. That’s not too high-quality (not more so than DeBrincat). Plus, like Steve Dangle says, draft picks are “magic beans”. DeBrincat is a proven, quality scorer.

I just don’t think the Preds need to be trying to compete right away. This is a process, and we gotta trust Trotz and wait it out. I think we’ll be back in the playoffs come 2024/25
