    Boston would ask for more.
Toews would want way more than that.
    Zucker would want more years

Pittsburgh should really offer sheet swayman, boston doesn't have a lot of cap room to match and it would probably be less than a 1st and a 3rd.

If the Canucks can clear some cap I could see them doing this, Carter costs about the same as a typical 3C would and can be good sometimes...

Carter vetoes the trade. Just being from Canada isn't really going to make him waive.

Overall it's not bad though - would just need to figure out how to fit Carter's money back on the roster

Boston will match any offer that doesn’t compensate them well enough and move out others.

Looking at CF's OS Calculator, Pens could go as high as $4.2 million. This would net a 2nd round pick, but Boston wouldn't hesitate to match that.

If the bruins match at that price and Derek forbort comes off LTIR, the team will have $6.3 million to to sign 8 skaters to fill out the roster. Patrice and Krejci will have to come back on league minimums

Forbort & Reilly can be bought out which saves $5 million for next season. They could trade Hall for nothing and save another $6 million.

If y'all dont think bruins are taking a top 15 pick and a second pick within top 100 for swayman then thats concerning

Last 3 years among goalies with 40gp, Swayman ranks:

    SV% - T-5th
    GAA - T-1st
    GSAA - 9th
    HDSV% - 8th
    HDGAA - 1st
    HDGSAA - 10th

He's 24yrs old and arguably a top 10 goalie in the NHL and he's not even in his prime yet. Now if you want to counter with "he's good because of the team in front of him" well......

    AHL - 1.99 GAA / .925 SV%
    NCAA - 2.51 GAA / .927 SV%

His final year in Maine he was the busiest goaltender in college hockey facing more shots and making more saves than any other goalie. He won the Richter for best NCAA goalie and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker for best player in college hockey.

Everything points to Swayman just being a really good goalie. Ullmark has 2yrs left and will be 32yrs old when he goes to FA. Swayman will be 26yr old and in his prime. The Bruins would be stupid to take a futures for him. Those picks could never become NHL regulars and statically there is a 75% chance the 1st would play 99+ games and a 14% chance that the 3rd plays 99+ NHL games.

I never said he wasnt good. Im all for everything you said. But then bruins should consider moving Ullmark instead. Its managing their assets as they head into a soon to be rebuild

Boston has been a team for years now that is built from the net out. They like having two solid goalies to go with a strong defense. I don't see Boston rebuilding, but my definition of rebuild is to year it down and start over. These usually take 7+ years to do. Re-tool though, that's more like a 2-3yr deal, which Boston likely tries to do. You don't sign Pastrnak to a mega deal and then rebuild.
