I keep seeing Wings fans talk about Parayko. I watch the Blues all the time and Parakyo is garbage. No thank you that is a terrible contract and he is way overrated

I can't see Stevie trading for EK65. He tried acquiring him years ago when he was Tampa GM. He ended up trading for RMD who helped them win 2 Cups.

I don't see EK65 being traded. The salary retention seems to be the biggest hurdle in any potential trade.

I can't see anyone wanting to pay a lot for karlsson and I can't believe sharks fans still think he's somehow getting them a treasure chest. They'd give him away for free if it got the contract off the books.

A 100 point defenseman the first since 1992? He contributed to 43% of SJs goals? He had no real star power around him? Yet you think he will be had for free? Get real.

No one is going to pay for him. No it won't be free if they move him but they'd need to retain so much to make him movable. SJ will just keep him and let him play and entertain as they rebuild.

Pass on Karlsson, other one Arizona rejects and Yzerman doesn't do.

Please keep in mind he was horrible defensively. He's not untouchable, especially with that extremely cruddy contracts.

That said, he still scored 100 points and a stay at home defensemen (or putting him on wing where he rightfully belongs), and he thrives.

Regardless, the only team that could make this work is probably Buffalo with their massive capspace and lush prospect pool. But they don't - no team will. He's just too expensive in whichever category you prioritize.

His +/- is a horrible stat to pay attention to. He was on ice for 21 empty net goals which counted against his+/- so you take that away and he is only -5.

There is a really good article that outlines how excellent he was defensively this year but I cannot find it right now. Not to mention his zone exits and entries are the elite of the elite, no one is better in the league at that than Erik Karlsson even in his injury years in SJ he still topped the league in that stat.

Regardless you don't sign Erik Karlsson expecting an elite shutdown defenseman. It's like complaining that Ovechkin is really bad at defense. This argument from people on here that somehow lack the ability to research his play is laughable at best. The generic and vapid "he's bad at defense is markedly lazy and pedantic commenting. Do better.

If hes scoring 100 pts, its a cheap contract if anything
