A 3rd is fine. No 4th.

Love Lindholm but Kasper is a non starter. Detroit declines.

Detroit doesn't need Vlader, We already have 10 Goalies within our organization.

Would love Elias Lindholm, But Marco Kasper is a no go. And Detroit isn't using their own 2024 1st round pick. Probably be Bostons depending on the circumstance.

I think Boston finishes worse than Detroit next year. Could always put a condition on getting the later pick of the two. Lindholm on the Red wings would be killer and Kasper probably won't be ready for a few years anyway. What would you replace Kasper with?

Kasper is pretty close to NHL ready, He might need about 20 games in GR. But that's about it. Not really sure on the extra piece Kasper and Mazur are no goes. maybe Cross Hanas but that's about it.

That's a lot for Hanifin who is having a bad year. Also, as much as I love Dumoulin, he is not a top pairing defenseman

Yzerman isn't big on trading prospects so realistically none worth a damn. Maybe Mastrosimone since he likely won't sign with Detroit, but that wouldn't be enough.
Realistically theres no good combination of prospects and picks for Lindholm. As good as he is, I wouldn't even trade Kasper 1:1 for him lol.

Also, one of Kasper's best attributes was how his game would seamlessly transfer into the NHL. I'd be more surprised if he doesn't become our team's 2/3C this season.
But even if he took longer; the Red Wings aren't in win now-mode so they could easily wait for him to "be ready."

I mean a 26 year old dman that can put up 40 points and play top pair minutes, but I get people are protective of their prospects.

Flames would need Dumoulin (or anyone) as a stop gap while some of the Flames younger D get some experience, but fair point.

Fair enough. I just see a perfect fit with Lindholm and the Red Wings and I think they are going to be ready to contend sooner than expected, the team is shaping out nicely.

For sure. Kasper is much more than what his stats portray, hence why I and other RW ACGM are so big on him. Kasper;
Matched Ra18ymond's D+1 scoring pace in his D+1 year,
was probably top 10 in GAR in the SHL [He was top 5 halfway through the season via Iyer Prashanth on Twitter].
He did this as an 18 year old in his first season at center - a two-way center at that.

However, the biggest thing is his grit. He was 3rd in the SHL in PIMs (71), most of which were for roughing/fighting. As an 18 year old.
Lindholm, as good as he may be, does not fill a giant whole the Red Wings have, which is just grit. Huge reason why we lost to Ottawa is because we let them push us around.

Selective justification here. And no. Detroit won't be better than Boston next season. LOL

Really depends on who re-signs, they have half 7 UFAs and 4 RFAs projecting $10m in cap space along with Pastrnak's $11.6m contract kicking in. Wouldn't be surprised if Boston falls off a bit and Detroit over achieves

It's not so much of being protective of prospects as it is, Hanifin has some bad advanced stats this year. Now not all of his advanced stats are bad but his goals above expected is -2 and Calgary is 2.2% more likely to score when he is NOT on the ice. Couple that with his terrible shooting percentage (he completely misses the net 32% of the time) and I just don't know.

I also don't like his proposed extension. The Pens would have to believe he is a top defenseman. I don't know.

But it is an interesting proposal, I'll give you that.

Well and genuinely thought out, but not exactly what I’d like to see myself

Wish it was Kadri going to COL and not Backlund and DET doesn’t need another Goalie. They have Husso, Ned & The Next Prodigy in Cossa they should run with

Signing Dansk, Dumoulin and Kerfoot is a bit of a head Scratcher for me. Dansk isn’t good enough to bring back and there’s better LD Targets out there, like Ryan Graves, Carson Soucy or the Offensively Talented Erik Gustafsson. We’re also loaded with Left Shot Forwards and already have Coleman, so I don’t see the need for Kerfoot. Perhaps a Cheaper Defensive Centre like Blueger or Acciari or Physical LW like Aston-Reese would be a better way to go

Weegar’s been great with Andersson. We could move Hanifin if the price is rightX but I don’t Trust Kylington, he’s the one who should be moved first. I’d rather give Poirier his spot

Probably time to move on from Tanev if we can get a good price and sign a decent replacement for him as well, like Dumba, Clifton, Severson or Holl. If we do a deal with OTT, I’d much prefer JBD over Thomson as well

If we Trade our Best Forward from this season = Toffoli, I would hope it’d be for something we can inject in to our lineup to help us improve and that doesn’t happen here

Trying something different. Experimenting to see what other teams think value wise. I see way to many ACGMs that don't propose anything. I'd rather get shot down and get some info out of it rather than put up a nothing post

More gap filling while other young guys develop and the Flames can make moves for better players, hence the two year deals. I wanted to add Graves and Acciari, but I questioned whether the Flames could actually sign them with out overpaying
