I don't hate the package OTT receives... The prospect is not needed and doesn't add anything; I'd prefer Berggren rather than Sebrango since RW is a spot of weakness for us. Can take out a 2nd as well to adjust for the value difference.

I don't think DET should do this though. Would make next year cap hell with resigning your youth.

Unless those pieces can be flipped for Saros , Hart etc then how is ottawa not getting a million times worse by doing this deal

Honestly, flipping those picks is exactly what I would do if this were an OTT ACGM. I could see Markstrom as a cheap target from CGY with the change of GM coming up; maybe him with retention for some of these picks.

Markstrom isn’t a good goalie anymore just like Gibson and Binnington . It’s Saros or hart imo

I think Hart is your only option right now, that's if they are okay with moving him. But that should be an easy move with those picks.

According to Montreal fans we have all the leverage and can only send a second, meh prospect and a cap dump or two.

All reality though he is what we need, we shouldn't trade for him though. If he wants to come here then he will.
