With Sandin now in the fold, as well as Fehervary and Alexeyev as cheap RFAs who played well last year, I don't see a fit for Krug in Washington. I believe they plan on giving Mantha a fair chance next year without Laviolette, and Mantha's contract is easier to move if it doesn't work out, so I can't see a world where Washington accepts this.

(also I completely understand why Hofer is thrown in, but I love the guy, I'd honestly be surprised if Washington traded him over similar late round picks like Gucciardi or Magnussen)

Yeah that makes sense. I’m not gonna lie I forgot about Fehervary so that probably wouldn’t work out, but Krug can be moved to any interested team I just have them as a placeholder IG.

We'll add our 2025 seventh to that offer for Marco Scandella.

Side note: I personally think Magnusson would probably be the first to go of that group, Hofer and Gucciardi were both very impressive this year

The buffalo trade doesn't make sense. Trading a worse 1st rd pick than ostlund was and he had a good draft +1 season too.

I like the weegar trade though. You gotta think Calgary would probably do it for 2 1sts. Calgary seems like they have one too many defenders to keep all of them under the cap

Possibly, though I haven't seen enough of Gucciardi yet (unfortunately couldn't catch as many Michigan State games as I wanted to). Magnussen would probably have to most value of the three anyway, even though I don't find his ceiling to be anything higher than maybe a 3rd liner.
