No one accepts. All extremely lopsided in Montreal's favor.

Nothing in it for Jersey trading a heavily retained Hamilton. Hamilton ain't waiving either.

Detroit reminds you that both teams are rebuilding, so there isn’t a need to take 8M for two rentals at the cost of a young, cost controlled developing player.

I'm not that high on Veleno so I might do it. Don't like Hoffman or Savard at all but compensation with a 2nd is nice. It fills a couple needs, it's not great but it's not the worst.

The thought of Veleno didn’t even cross my mind. The thought was arming Montreal with 7 million (after they try signing Joe) in cap space on two players that are rentals.

For a 2025 2nd, why not just re-sign a 23 year old to a 2-3 year 1-1.25M deal. At minimum that is a bargain for a bottom 6, while limiting risk that there is still some upside.

8 million for a middle 6 winger and 2RD that doesn’t improve the Wings to make a playoff spot. Save the cap space or use less of that 8M to bring in similar players. Let MTL work on shipping them out for a possible 3-4-5th round return.

Well Savard can be 2 RHD and possibly partner with Edvinsson. I'm not a fan but depends on the options we have. Hoffman sucks but he can score some goals. The second being in 2025 doesn't bother me as it could be used as trade bait later or just picked at the time. It's really not ideal or plan A-E but it's something. Also Savard blocks alot of shots and although he wasn't as physical last season usually plays a physical game.
