Description

Where will Patty Kane go after this season? Here are a few potential spots for him after this season from most to least likely.

1) Kane resigns in New York. This is probably what happens, not sure for how much or what kind cap shenanigans the rangers would have to do to make this work but if I were a betting man this would be my bet.

2) Kane signs in Chicago: I could see Kane doing this to get traded to another contender at the deadline like what Marleau did with San Jose but this one is unlikely.

3) Kane returns to the fatherland: Kane signs in Buffalo and leads this team not only to the playoffs but to Stanley Cup glory. (Unlikely but I can dream.)

4) Idk: Kane does something crazy and signs in Vegas or somethin idk.

Rangers are likely unable to retain him due to cap reasons. I personally see him going back to Chicago or another top contender.

Would love him back at CHI but KD has already said he wants the youngsters to grow organically and have a chance to grow into a leadership role

Honestly, the obvious choices are probably the least likely. CHI has already ripped that bandaid off and is likely to be a bottom feeder again next season. The Rangers don't have the cap space. And Buffalo has a pretty complete roster that I'm not sure they will want to disrupt unless it bolsters the team defensively, they also have a lot of raises coming up and prospects that will need roster spots. I am very interested to see how that plays out, though.
