You'd be lucky to get lint for DeSmith.

Yea because all backup goalies on $1.8m contracts with an above 900 sv% in every season they’ve played, are worth lint.

Obviously embellishment, but he's a meh goalie with an expiring contract.

Figured so, I’d give up a second for him and we have the picks to do it so consider it a deal in this case.

No because backup goalies have little to no value, especially when there are several UFAs that have better numbers.

But for $1.8m and 5 seasons under his belt posting a career sv of .912? Meh that’s a little harder to find….

Just feel like a 2nd is a very real asset whereas 3rd+4th feels more like 2 fodder pieces. That's my view tho. Devils may like yegor if he can remain cost controlled but if it were me I'd rather have Meier Mercer Holtz Bratt Tatar and then we're stuck with Palat as our top 9 wingers so he's replaceable. Wish we didn't sign palat tho

Yea I feel like any team who gets Yegor is going to get a very solid player. Devils got a log jam down the left as you said and just don’t have a spot for him, so he’s likely going to be a trade candidate for his RFA rights. Would love for the Pens to be in on him. Fits literally EXACTLY what we need…. Young, very cheap contract, fast, and the kid can score.

I think he could really be a great asset on a middle 6 scoring line, and he can also kill penalties as well.
There's simply not room for him tho with all the names I mentioned +boqvist in a utility role, and he doesn't fit with what the bottom line does

All reasons why I feel he’d make the bottom 6 a whole lot better for us

He'd be exactly what your 3rd line could use

I don't think we would be looking for a pick. Might as well keep him another year....has one more RFA summer in 2024. If we want to move him, do it then.

I would like to see him move back to his natural center position and become a candidate for 3C.

I would be okay with this actually and could see something like this happen. Only thing I might consider adding is a veteran lefty d-man for cheap, 2mil or less buts that it. I might be crazy off on this too but I really think Puustinen is our secret weapon for next year. I think he has real potential. He did great in Wilkes Barre this year, went to a few games and he looked good. I really hope they give him a good look at the NHL team next year.
