Jesus no. shakes head

Boston has to shed 6-8m just to sign their RFAs and fill the roster with ELCs or cheap vets.

After that any UFAs or trades they make they have to shed whatever salary is coming in.

Not only does this not work from a cap standpoint, not doing it from logistics standpoint either.

Boston and Carolina laugh pass.

PLD doesn't return half of that offer.

And reportedly Connor Hellebuyck wants to play closer to his Detroit area home. Doubtful he'd commit long term with New Jersey.

None of the deals are anywhere near realistic.

If they rebuild they should focus on picks and not retaining and money. Scheifele and Hellebuyck should be the first to go

I think NJD would table any goalie trades for now and first see how the the if this year shakes out.

(And props to the guy always saying no one wants to play in New Jersey….admire the resolve).

Huh? What are you talking? He has no trade protection. The Jets wont care. They arent waiting for Detroit to offer a 3rd round pick or he walks.

If the Jets take the cap dump of Armia (had a Blackhawks fan tell me it wasn't worth moving up in the 1st) I'm fine with those pieces.

Not giving up the Florida 1st without serious concessions which includes cap dumps and a long term deal on PLD.

But who's giving up that much without guarantee of an extension? Definitely not the Devils.

Seems like the Devils have got their goalie....for years to come. IMO New Jersey was always a good destination, very easy travel schedule for one. Now the Devils haven't been that attractive to players till recently.

Biggest selling part…

2022-23 alone: 112 pts
2020-21 and 2021-22: 108 pts combined

But NJ has always been a somewhat popular place with players. Good quality of life, new facilities, easy commute, easy travel schedule. Since Teemu Selänne blocked a trade here back in the day, I have never heard of NJ on anyones “no list” or heard of anyone blocking a trade here since. Now with a young, promising team, I’d imagine a few vets will see opportunity here.

Doubt the bruins would give up either of those assets, let alone both
