Great shutdown defensman. Young and very physical. Would be a perfect fit

Cheap. Very physical and young. Can compete with Fleury.

Higher cap hit but very similar to Okhotiuk. A bit older though and not as physical.

          MTL
The cheapest trade options in terms of what we’d send in return but aging and doesn’t have much left.

            1. Samberg, Dylan [RFA Rights]

Probably going to require too high of a cap hit but a very good shutdown defensman. Could be more physical.

You can remove Samberg from that list he wouldn't be available unless it's a no doubt accept by the jets (ie 1st or top prospect)

From a Jets perspective, Samberg is borderline untouchable (looks like he will be their future shutdown pairing LD for a long time). Stanley is pure trash, you're better off playing Bogosian on his offside.

Something I could see is Dillon @ 50% retained, but not sure if that will work cap wise even with the retention.

Hirose isn’t available. The Canucks just signed him a month ago and won’t want to move on until they see what he is, unless you’re willing to offer up an absurd overpay.

Hirose is not for sale, Canucks beat out multiple teams to sign him

3.9m 50% would just be slightly more than Edmundson

Gotcha. Yeah that’s prob not doable tbh unless we’re willing to carry only 1 extra skater. With my recent mock we need a bottom pairing guy around League min. One of the many reasons I love Okhotiuk

You can ask @coopstroops but Declan Carlisle has been pretty good in Syracuse. Could be another Perbix rise.

Would love to see Carlile win the job out of camp.

I'd call him a somewhat less physical Cernak, but with a tad higher offensive upside.

Okhotiuk was a very specific piece Grier wanted (not clue why) so moving him is very premature but I personally couldn’t care less and with the plethora of LD options that Sharks have already in the NHL (Vlasic, Simek, Ferraro, Knyzhov, Thurn) the NHL/ AHL tweeners (Cicek, McDonald) and NHL ready or close prospects (Mukhamadulin and Kinazev) plus the other developing prospects (Furlong Guyrev)

For a decent pick I could see him dealt.
You could also get Simek for FC as well!

He has but probably isn’t a safe option. Would like someone more certain

He’s actually a good player but has been hampered by injuries and sharks have younger higher upside cheaper options ready to take his place. The last half of the season Simek was hitting hard playing solid D and if we were thinner at LD I would argue to resign him.
