Arizona declines can get matthews for free without affecting the rebuild. If not he isn't a direct need and Arizona sticks to the process

I actually like the thought, but again Arizona really has no motivation to make the trade. Leafs if they are in selling mood at TDL, could get good return at TDL for Matthews/Nylander and Brodie.

I think Engvall has been traded multiple times to every team in the NHL. He's a CFACGM legend. Right up there with fellow CFACGM legends Travy Dermy and Justin the incredible Holl.

Not a Leaf fan but I thought when Dubas and Keefe get canned this org is desparate enough to look the other way on Quenneville. They can get their media toadies/employees to rehab his image. I hear Stan Bowman is available.

Maybe, but if matthews becomes a UFA 10 other teams will be in for him. It might not play out the way the Coyotes think. AZ has plenty of picks, prospects and cap space. eventually they get the arena and will need a face of the franchise to sell some seats.

If Florida sweeps or wins in 5, management is gone. The core 5 need to be broken up. Tavares and Rielly will never waive. Marner wants to be there. Nylander going to sign with the highest bidder probably Greater than 10M. Matthews resigning is a coin flip at this point but they cant let him walk for nothing. 17M in the cap hit you could fix the goal, D and still bring in a top 6 winger plus replenish the draft capital.

If these 2 walk to UFA, despite the fame of the leaf prospect pool other than Knies there are no other stars in their system and Dubas has traded away all their picks

Not sure why Toronto would want to swap Nylander for Scheifele.
