Boston does not want Scheifele.

If they trade Swayman, unlikely, it will be for 1st or high end prospect. Not rentals. FFS.

Trade Ullmark and get value. No clue why they need both. Senators im sure will give something decent

I hope and pray Carolina makes that deal for PLD. Mtl doesnt need to do anything this year unless the media gets to Hughes

What rental?
The comments states that he signs an extension.

Ullmark has a 16 team NTC, half the league, half the league won’t be looking for a goalie, he can make himself untradeable unless he wants to go.

I agree, they should trade him. If they do they sign Sway to long term deal for about the same AAV Ully has now. They don’t gain that much.

Yeah, I see no point in Mtl giving away assets and picks to get him. They aren't contenders this year and they can get him for free next year if he's really sold on playing for the team. If he's not, there's already Suzuki and Dach at center so it's not as if he's absolutely needed. Either him or Dach would have to play wing.

Take out Iafallo, Spence, and one of the 1sts and LA might consider that.

You can keep Samberg and Vesalainen too.

That's another matter altogether.
Who would be your centers playing 1st and 2nd lines if Bergeron retires and Krejci leaves or regresses?
You have a great team but you need to fill these 2 massive holes if they aren't coming back.

I doubt LA gets Hellebuyck AND gets rids of Petersen's contrat for a 1st and a couple of players. For the price you suggest, they probably have to keep Petersen.

We’ll worry about that when it actually happens. I expect DK to retire and Zacha takes his slot. I expect Bergy comes back. If not…everyone slides up a notch and they go without a true #1 next year unless they do something creative. They simply don’t have the cap space, and the guys that would be available would not be worth dismantling the team for.

Fair enough.
I guess they can also look at acquiring someone at the deadline when there's less $ left to be paid to fill the spot of #1 if they need to.

The Kings are likely willing to pay a 2nd and a ok prospect to dump Petersen, and that's if they're interested in dumping Petersen at all. According to Blake's exit interviews earlier this week, it sounds like they intend to start next season with a Copley/Petersen tandem.

Are you suggesting that Spence and Turcotte aren't developing "as hoped." I'll admit Turcotte is taking longer than expected, but only because he's constantly injured. The Kings are still very high on him, but they need him to get healthy first. Spence, on the other hand, is exactly the player they hoped he would be. He's been the best defenseman (if not best player) on the ice at every level he has played in, and didn't look out of place in his NHL stints so far. Durzi is likely getting shipped out to make room for Spence next summer. The Kings have no desire to move either of these guys, especially if it is for struggling prospects.

Boston doesn't have the cap space to take on Mark Scheifele at full value, Even at 50% retained it's probably still going to be tough.

Dallas doesn’t have the cap space for this. That’s $7M+ in cap space you’re having them take on. Dallas currently has about $8M for Dellandrea’s extension and to fill 5 roster spots, none of which are LD

Canes won’t be stupid enough to waste 3 really good assets on a 1 year center. Canes don’t do big rentals, so there is no chance of this happening.

Carolina decline and block your number. A 24 first and Suzuki is more likely
