When you trade for a player like Marner, you don't get to throw in a bunch of bottom 6 guys with big cap hits. Think of the Florida/Calgary trade from last year as a template.

If Marner is being traded to Vancouver you’re looking at Demko coming back the other way.

A hypothetical trade would be: Demko+ Hoglander + 9th overall for Marner.

You knack on the trade all you want but Marner is a 100 point player with Selke nomination. Elite two-player are rare and the only instance I can think of one being traded is Mark Stone.

I don't think the return for Marner is bad per say, it's just not what TOR would want.
Pretty sure they don't want futures that will help in only a few years.

is he elite is he's useless in the playoffs? that will certainly drive his price down
