Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Joshua, Dakota
  2. Miller, J.T.
  3. Myers, Tyler ($1,900,000 retained)
  4. Pearson, Tanner
  5. 2023 3rd round pick (TOR)
  6. 2024 4th round pick (VAN)
  7. 2025 5th round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Canucks get out of bad contract down the road & buy some space in the immediate future to re-sign Bear.. Pick up a couple younger guys with offensive upside who could be part of their winning window.. Figure both Miller & Myers waive in this situation.. Giving up a bit of draft capital & bottom 6 Joshua (Don't know much about him tbh but seems like he could spell on the 4th line at times)
VAN
  1. Abruzzese, Nick [RFA Rights]
  2. Murray, Matt ($2,343,750 retained)
  3. Tavares, John
  4. Timmins, Conor
  5. 2023 6th round pick (TOR)
  6. 2024 5th round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Not sure if Tavares waives for anywhere but figure Vancouver is one of the few plausible options.. Canucks have to stomach the high cap hit for 2 years but could still be useful on a cheap contract later on when the team has improved.. Getting rid of Miller hands the keys of the team to Pettersson & Hughes which is desperately needed after both stepped their game up this past year.. Leafs could use the edge that Miller brings; have 0 plans on playing Tyler Myers and will immediately trade to Blackhawks.. Pearson could be useful if he's healthy.. A LOT of tough contracts swapping here
2.
TOR
  1. Roos, Filip
  2. 2023 5th round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Having Myers, Zaitsev & Mrazek will ensure it won't matter how many goals Bedard scores cuz they'll allow so many making it super easy for Gary to rig the draft again for them :)
CHI
  1. Myers, Tyler ($2,050,000 retained)
  2. Steeves, Alex
  3. 2023 3rd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Hawks get to move up and pick up Steeves who has no future with the Leafs it seems but could maybe make this Chicago team
3.
TOR
  1. 2023 1st round pick (CGY)
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Flames pick up a real intriguing prospect for moving down in a deep draft. Flipping the 2nd for the 4th cuz Minten outweighs the move up IMO
CGY
  1. Minten, Fraser
  2. 2023 1st round pick (BOS)
  3. 2024 4th round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Leafs should trade any not A prospect that can end up making this roster stronger..
4.
TOR
  1. Frank, Ethen
  2. Wilson, Tom ($2,583,333 retained)
  3. 2023 4th round pick (WSH)
Additional Details:
Although the Capitals have muted interest in trading Wilson, the Leafs force their hand with a mild over payment.. Some teams need to be coaxed into their rebuilds/retools..
WSH
  1. Robertson, Nicholas
  2. Villeneuve, William
  3. 2023 1st round pick (CGY)
  4. 2024 3rd round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
Leafs shock the draft floor by trading a juicy prospect to move up only to swing that pick in a massive package for one of the games top power forwards.. No immediate extension as the terms might not be optimal for Toronto but will remain open..

Hard pass from the flames. We'll keep our 16th overall.

Roos is a good prospect, worth more than a late 3rd round pick plus cap dumps so not a chance

Canucks won't do that. Tavares is older and more expensive, and not the better player at this point.

Villenueve brings little value to Washington and Robertson likely holds less value than before due to his limited NHL experience, plus Wilson is on track for an extension. Simply put, for a 50% retained Wilson and someone they value fairly highly in Frank, this trade is far from a mild overpay, and Washington and Wilson's mutual interest in an extension makes him pretty much unattainable in a trade as they seem deadset on getting a deal done.

Intrigued by that Canucks trade!

Really difficult to gauge Miller's value at the moment. On the one hand there appears to be legitimate substance to the rumors that the Pens offered 2 firsts at the deadline (providing the Canucks could take enough salary back).

That Pens regime has gone now and we almost certainly won't see anything like that now.

However Miller's value on ability and performance is certainly high at the moment, particularly given he's remained over PPG for years now.
At the same time, having watched Miller throughout his entire Canucks career, I just don't see this contract aging well at all.

Can also guarantee that Pavelski's playoff performances are absolutely going to influence stupid GMs attitudes towards aging players.

I think I'd accept the proposed trade as long as Joshua and the 3rd rounder are removed.

Confident I'm in the minority of Nucks fans here though.

This trade is not a mild overpay for Wilson and does not benefit the caps.
