Actually convincing the fanbase that youre rebuilding

Created by: DH28Hockey
Team: 2023-24 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: May 11, 2023
Published: May 11, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
7OA -> David Reinbacher
13OA -> Gabriel Perreault
23OA -> Callum Ritchie

Without any other moves, future depth chart of:

Perreault-Gauthier-Tippett

Farabee-Frost-Foerster

Cates-Ritchie-Brink

Foudy-Desnoyer-Kaplan

York-Reinbacher

Andrae-Boqvist

Zamula-Attard

Hart

Ersson

Kolosov

I still think they'll need to hit a home run or two in the next few drafts to really add a superstar talent or two, (Celebrini, that Finish LHD whose name escapes me, Eiserman, Misa etc.), but this gives them a strong foundation for the future IMO

  1. 2023 1st round pick (BUF)
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (BUF)
BUF
  1. Konecny, Travis
Additional Details:
I think the biggest move they can make to convince me they're really turning a new corner would be moving TK for a 2023 1st. Buffalo strikes me as a team ready to take the next step, and adding a guy like TK and maybe a Severson/Dumba in the offseason could really help them take the leap
2.
PHI
  1. Boqvist, Adam
  2. Foudy, Liam
  3. 2023 1st round pick (LAK)
CBJ
  1. Hayes, Kevin ($2,642,857 retained)
  2. Provorov, Ivan
  3. Sandström, Felix
  4. 2023 3rd round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
Given CLB has said they'd move the 2023 LAK 1st for a Gavrikov replacement and has shown interest in Hayes, I could see this deal making sense for them
3.
PHI
  1. Myers, Tyler
  2. 2023 4th round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Vancouver clears cap without having to give up significant asset to move Garland
VAN
  1. Ellis, Ryan
Additional Details:
Philly gets a 4th and avoids having to operate in LTIR long term

I would be very surprised if the Sabres were willing to move a first round pick for Konecny, especially this year’s. Next year you have a chance, but not this year’s.

No issue with the TK trade, value is probably right but, it just doesnt address a need. If Kevyn Adams deals the first for a forward, after refusing to deal it for a d-man (chychrun), at the very least we'll all be hella confused lol

Reinbacher would be the perfect fit for Philly's rebuild. 7 might be a slight reach, but the talent in this draft is so deep in honestly doesn't matter. And considering you guys have 2 more in the first round, I think that pick is a bit of a no-brainer.

No he didn't flat out say that. He said those two are untouchable. And goober mike harrington said that arz wanted either of them. But that wasn't what they actually wanted.

Chad D has actual sources. They wanted minimally/unprotected first rounders.

He said they wanted more from buffalo than they got from buffalo and said it was fair to say that kulich or savoie needed to be included.

I feel like Moore isn't a bad pick at 7. Moore is atleast one, if not the best skater of the draft and Philly could use a guy like that. Feel like Reinbacher is a boom or bust type of a guy and Philly can't really be making moves like that right now.

I think thats just butt covering. He wasnt willing to stomach the price for Chychrun since he was worried about the lack of protection. It would be weird for ARZ to ask for picks from ott and kulich from BUF instead of just asking them to one up each other for the best offer.

I'll be honest, I strongly disagree with the sentiment that Philly shouldn't be making moves like that, if anything that's the only thing they should be doing with their high picks.

They already have a very deep pool, the only thing they're really missing is those true top line star pieces that every contender has. They need to be putting all of their energy into finding those pieces, even if it comes with significant risk.

I personally would like Konecny. Would rather give up assets that I already have like oustland, Rosén ect

I do agree that Philly needs top line guys but I would rather play it a bit more safe and take Moore because of his elite skating and tank hard next year to get that superstar player. I don't think their pool is that deep, outside of York, Foerster, Gauthier, Andrae and maybe Brink, there isn't much there.

Positionally Reinbacher is perfect, but he is bit of a reach and I feel like he is a bit of a boom or bust type of a guy which I don't like.

True, but I think you guys can afford to take that risk considering you have two other picks in this draft. Idk, im just really high on Reinbacher. I really like his game.

Without the trades in this ACGM Philly only has 1 1st rounder this year and no 2nd rounders.

No d man in this draft is worth a top 10 pick. Though we need d men more probably, drafting BPA this high typically makes more sense.

Buffalo pass, we need a top 4 RD, we have enough forwards and also Savoie and Kulich are already in line. I like Konecny, but he probably wasn't the ideal target for #13.

Nobody is going to pay more than 13OA in a *loaded* draft for Konecny

Haven't seen Perreault play but his stats are damn impressive, not a prospect I've seen mentioned a lot in the top 10.
