Value aside I doubt Tanev would not be surprised if Buffalo is one of Tanev's 10 teams

Think you’re short on the StL trade. Honestly huge fall off at around prospect 16/18. If they just avoided that trade they could get Wood, Moore, or Perreault at 13 and still get Simachev if they packaged all those seconds. Buffalo already has a ton of prospects, getting a higher end on would seem like a priority. While in reverse StL should be more in the quantity stage anyways I would think.

He went to college 45 mins from buffalo.

Regardless, Krebs isn't going anywhere

A 2nd alone isn't getting you Tanev

Pretty sure he stays in western Canada in the offseason. I imagine most of the Eastern teams are on his No-Trade list

Buffalo has made 22 picks the last 2 drafts and has a deep and loaded prospect pool. We don't need all these assets in a move down

That means nothing now. Tanev is 34 I doubt being near where he went to college 15 years ago means much to him

I'm just giving my 2 cents. I don't see Calgary moving him for anything less than an overpay though

He's in the last year of his contract, what are Calgary going to do now? Rebuild? Trying to win again? You don't have a GM and coach yet.

Calgary doesn't rebuild. They will write last year off as an anomaly and probably make the playoffs next year

The Dallas and Toronto picks will be like 29 and 30. Unless simashev and willander do something incredibly stupid before the draft, both will be long gone by pick 29. One of them might be gone before pick 13.

Just saying, we are talking about only a 10 team list. Factoring in the basement dwellers etc, being near a place you are familiar with could keep us off that list. There are plenty of teams further from western canada

Sure, again I'm just giving my 2 cents. I doubt Calgary moves him anyways. They would want to bring in a pretty high impact player if they were to though

Maybe. I have a feeling Armstrong is using at least one of those late 1st rounders to get a current player age 25-28 and/or using in a package to get rid of an undesirable dman contract

Ummm there's probably a timeline where the Blues would strongly consider this, and that timeline begins with Moore being gone so they take Reinbacher at 10, and probably ends with them coveting Danielson in your slot. One big problem is, I doubt Reinbacher makes it to 10.

Was just basing on being sellers at the deadline honestly. Have no clue where they sit on their prospect pool. But Buffalo needs the quality so this trade doesn’t make sense for them Was my overriding point

The Blues were both sellers and buyers at the deadline. They traded away all their valuable UFAs so they didn't lose them for nothing, that's all.

Who really knows what GM's are thinking at the draft.
But you are correct, Buffalo will most likely use their draft capital to get better picks.
For example the 13th and 87th may get them to 12th (Buffalo would probably need to add a bit more).
They may also move their two seconds to get another first round pick.
The 39th, 45th and 109th could get them the 26th OA.
Getting better picks makes more sense for Buffalo.
Axel Sandin Pellikka and David Reinbacher may both be available at 13th and Adams may still pass on them, who knows.

I simply don't see the Avs dropping out of the first round unless that pick is being used in getting them a 2C.

Kerbs might possible be the causality trade. But we are absolutely not trading him for Chris Tanev
