If there is anything giving me some hope is when TBL moved on from Yzerman and promoted Julien BriseBois, that changed their franchise.

Yzerman walked so Brise Bois could run, and boy did he run. Fingers crossed we share a similar fate

I get this angle, but it all comes down to what's next. If Shannahan brings in some genius tactician that leads us to the Cup, then great. Still too early to say. I don't want to call for Shanny's head just yet. I am equally excited and nervous for what lies ahead, and wish Dubas the best. He restored so much hope in me when he started.

Really dont like the direction this is headed. I’ll be ok if they fire Keefe and Pridham gets the promotion but, on the GM side of that, I dont get the sense that that is the direction.

So based upon review of months/years of performance, the conclusion was that Kyle Dubas should remain GM of the Leafs for the foreseeable future... He Then he expresses in one interview that he needs time to talk to his family and discuss whether returning to the team is what's best for all of them and now he isn't the right guy for the job??? What a f*cking joke that is.

Both sides at one point wanted each other. He did a lot of good for the organization as a whole

Agents ****ing things up classic lul

As 100% I bet the agent was the one dragging things out as if u approach in March why was it not done by April. Agent probs like hey this is MLSE we can get this and this and this. Should have taken the last offer and been done. Shanahan was probs like enough no more bending over bye

And it sucks as Dubas did a great job but his agent probs got his hand stuck in the cookie jar and rather than try and get out he got himself more stuck. If I was Dubas would have signed that latest deal offered if he really wanted to be GM as clearly MLSE and Shanahan were not in the mood to give whatever the amount was.

Anyways I trust Pridham to get the job done until we either see him promoted or new gm. With him Matthews should be done by July

Just got back from work only to find out Spezza has also quit... Great stuff from the Leafs franchise here, glad to see them just spit in the face of loyal employees who have done nothing but make this team better. Dubas transformed this team into something really promising, and Spezza committed the end of his career to taking league min to play in Toronto (and even threatened retirement if anyone else took him). Could not have asked for a more loyal duo, and yet one comment during a presser was enough to throw all of that away... Ridiculous stuff, right back to the basement we go

To me the big test for Pridham extend Matthew's he does it he's GM. I trust him to do it

Now if he struggles there will be a new gm

Can't link the tweet, but supposedly there are more than a few unhappy people in the Leafs organization over this news - specifically staff members. Have your opinions on Dubas' personnel decisions, but you can't convince me he isn't a world class person and a great guy to work for.
