Description
In some alternate timeline, Dub'ass gets fired and the top players are traded with no emotions considered. Matthews and Marner get traded to two different teams in California for that easy drive visits on the weekends. Leafs get Bedard, and the Hawks get Fantilli, Carlsson and Michkov all in the form of draft picks. Now Tavares has to mentor the next generation (Bedard and Knies), while the massive cap space makes wave for free-agent stars wanting to be on the same team as Mr. Toe Drag Release.

No because Matthews Nylander Marner > Bedard… if it was just Matthews Nylander Marner for Fantilli Michkov Carlsson there could be a case to be made. But trading all three for Bedard is the wrong move

From what I saw the past few playoffs, I'd say its worth it. You basically get the next McDavid for 3 Regular Season heroes.

Nylander is the only 1 of the core 4 who doesn't disappear during the playoffs, Nylander actually has a fantastic resume for the playoffs, it's the other 3 that fall asleep

Columbus isn't forgoing the center prospect they've never had for an offense-only winger (they've already got at least two high-end of those) and a RHD (they've got seven of those). Easy decline.

I'm not opposed to a Nylander trade, but this particular one is silly. Something that starts with the 22OA LAK pick and leaves out Liljegren could be discussed.

Laugh it up if you want - but if the goal for CBJ is to improve today this does that, 3 OA likely a perfectly fine player but he will not be what Nylander is today out of the gate, could 1 year, 2 years , 3 years or maybe never becomes this quality of player

Panarin has been at and above the 90pt pace the last 5 seasons so I can only expect the same from him. You can’t possibly believe he is actually going to be higher than panarin.. it’s more likely that he comes into the league and gets 55 pts and everyone refers to him as a bust like they did with Hischier, Hughes, Kakko, Lafreniere, byfield, etc. but like the first 2 names there they will all eventually hit their mark. Eventually he will be better than panarin but not his first year 😂
