Defense still isn't good enough to compete IMO. Would need to look in the FA market to help more (Graves, Gavi, Etc.)

I agree based off of last seasons performances, but with the growth for the young guys this off season and getting Werenski back it may prove to be a good core.

Definitely agree. I like all of those Arizona players and would do that trade in a heartbeat, don't see Arizona ever trading Keller tho with all the work he has done in trying to help the team get a new stadium and the work he does in the community.

I completely agree Keller is an important part of that team, they may consider moving him for a package like this, I think this is fair both ways in terms of value if Arizona wants to fully commit to a very young team. The only issue is with the Yotes finding their stride they may be slowly turning into buyers shortly and if that is the case I do not see Keller moving at all (Probably their Captain if not moved)

I think Sillinger and Foudy offset that request, everyone is so fixed on this upcoming draft that they can't see a trade without it impacting the top 10 in some way.

It's a big swing that would definitely be very fun. If only they still had Chychrun and we could somehow work him into the deal.

D corps and Center-ice still don't feel like contenders but we'd be on an upward trajectory. Schmaltz wasn't taking a ton of faceoffs in AZ but he's a better bet than Roslovic and I like what he would provide next to Laine. Maybe they can trade off if Laine is what Pascal Vincent thinks he can be.

Roslovic + Peeke + #34 + Kuraly should be enough to find a PKing LD if we can't in FA.

Maybe even a Ryan O'Reilly or some such in FA would help solidify the center ice in case Carlsson isn't in the NHL.

I agree that there is a heightened focus on this draft, but mostly because of the depth of the prospects after Bedard. If Arizona is going to sell both players other teams will be able to offer higher than 22nd overall and prospects of equal value.

I hear what you are saying, but I seriously think this trade gets it done gaining them another 1st rounder and some very talented young players would help them IF they wanted to move Keller.

Arizona won't move Keller, and certainly not for this return. Remove him and Boqvist and this feels like a good deal.

I feel like that would result in a massive overpayment on the Jackets side

Then you're underrating Vejmelka and Schmaltz and underestimating the cost of moving Elvis.

I don’t think Columbus is ready to give up on Sillinger, yes he had a down sophomore season, but he is still only 20, idk why everyone wants Columbus to get rid of him, he was taken 11th OA for a reason and made the team at 18, let’s see what year 3 brings before getting rid of him.

I also don’t think Arizona is moving Keller at this point he is the guy they are going to build around and will likely be the next captain.

i completely agree, but I think that would be the package needed to get him if Arizona would move him.

Love the idea of Schmaltz. I think we're going to have trouble moving Elvis without eating it in a massive way, so it's probably best to just give him another shot. Next year this team needs to be competitive, but it's not make or break. They can afford to give Elvis and Tarasov another go. Just sign a veteran to sit in Cleveland in case they both get injured again.

Do opinions change now that Arizona may be a moving team this off-season? Feel like they could be more willing to trade players away like Keller now that Arizona isn't home anymore... we would def have to pay more but I feel like it is a possibility that Arizona could move players that would want out.

I think it depends on what the NHL and the Owners come to as an agreement, if they are forced to relocate, I would say most likely. If they are able to swap gears and go to Scottsdale or another local area, then it becomes harder.

I cant remember how the move from Atlanta to Winnipeg effected the team and its players, did any players ask for trades during the transition? Also feel like the NHL is going to be forced to make a decision soon now.

Honestly I can't remember, I wasn't paying a ton of attention to the way it affected the players, I was still in grade or middle school when that happened.

So it was in 2011, which means I was a freshman in highschool when they moved.

They’re not going to move this off-season. It’s already halfway through May. That is simply not enough time. They’ll be with ASU for at least another season because it’s logistics. And they won’t make any major trades now I’d assume because they’ll want the core intact for the new location. There are the bones of a good team there already, with Keller, Vejmelka, Moser, Maccelli, and Crouse, plus the prospects.

I doubt they would move someone like Keller though, he is the guy they are going to use to sell tickets wherever they land, players like Schmaltz and Velmajka might become available, but I’d want to keep Keller as my face of the franchise and guy I can use to sell the community where we are going to get tickets.

He couldn't even get 16,000 people (basically a stadium's worth of fans) to vote for the stadium.
