Why would Carolina even consider that? Lily is a massive downgrade from Pesce, and giving up KK, who has excelled as a 2C, is a massive mistake. Especially when they don’t have anyone internally to replace KK, and would have to waste a bunch of assets just to bring in someone to play 2C. These Leafs proposals are just getting more and more 1 sided.

I think a team who is constantly blasted with “low effort” accusations should not make a trade for PLD

The firsts are nice, but the Jets aren't taking a huge cap dump and a player they don't need.

If I was GM I would consider... but it sounds like the Jets want young NHLers and players that will make an impact now instead of 1sts. They are still looking for picks but would rather have young players (for toronto: Robertson, Knies, Niemela...)

Robertson would be available for sure. These 1sts can also be traded for the type of guys they want as well.

I did this assuming they were rebuilding, so the cap dump didn't matter. As for "a player they don't need" I assume you meant Hirvonen. He is a B- level prospect. You can change him for another prospect outside of Knies, Robertson and Niemela. If yout want Robertson instead, also remove the 3rd round pick.

Canes pass easy. You want core pieces, you need to be talking Matthews, not Marner. Any Marner deal would need to be futures based, multiple 1sts, prospects etc. Not roster pieces

What are your thoughts on a 5.5m x 6 year extension for Pesce? Too little? Too much?

WAY too little. I'd expect closer to 6.5-7 for Pesce. Dude is one of the best right-handed defensemen in league history defensively. 5.5 ain't cutting it. I fully expect an 8 year deal for Pesce
