Description
They said Cat is gone, sorry!

DeTrOiT DeCliNeS idc just get this dude outta here and give him a change of scenery.

Dube would be interesting and I ripped this off from someone else's post.

Also, how likely is it these UFAs re-sign with their team? Does VGK have room to keep Hill?

As a Leafs fan - with zero interest in anything here - I hope Ottawa retains Debrincat, that's someone who can be sneaky good on your second line and give some awesome scoring depth. I would stay a country mile away from Domi for that price.

Can't agree more on Cat, looks like he found his footing late in the season with the "system" and the chemistry with everyone else. I just like adding supposed depth pieces to this team since their bottom 6 brings much pain.

I wish this site would show the other team's cap when you make a trade.

That would save so much time in terms of commenting on salary issues.

Speaking of salary issues, is Mangiapane a flame next season? Likely the easiest to move no?

In short, he's just another dude. Very good straight line player. Very little hockey sense considering who he was traded for originally.

Just unfortunate he's at the salary he is when he should be making $2 million less. I think a team that needs to reach the cap floor would take him

Chicago needs some bodies. Might need to pay a little premium for them to take him but he's still young enough to be a useful player. Joseph+Thomson+4th for future conssiderations?

My thoughts on the deal were skeptical. Would've preferred a 2 year deal at like 1.4 or something.

Keep in mind that there are capdumps the teams could pick up that'll give 'em better assets.

At his salary I wouldn't take Joseph for free even. Detroit isn't struggling to reach the cap floor

Almost certainly staying. He had the worst statistical year of his career this year. His shooting percent was 9% below his career average and his underlying numbers took a huge plummet from the previous 3 seasons. He had a new contract slump and is almost certainly bound to bounce back. He would have had ~31 goals if he scored at his usual rate and that would have been a ~57 points this season instead of 43
