If there's a u25 1C that can be extended for 8 years that someone is interested in trading for 3 then it would certainly be considered. Otherwise, there's not really a trade that fits what the Jackets need and can get from using the pick.

We're looking for a star 1C under 25 with term, so for the Flames it would take Lindholm ++ because of age and term (and only + if he comes with an extension).

Hanifin is also of interest, but again...term. Maybe both, with extensions, for 3OA? That would at least give a framework to work around.

I'd be okay with the STL trade. As for the Carolina trade I'd like them to add, and I doubt they'd go for it, since they don't love rentals.

If the Flames are rebuilding they'll look to move Backlund Tanev and Zadorov as well.
