I'm not sure on the details of this information, but I have heard Garland has some serious character issues. Davidson and his front office seem to hold culture building pretty high up as one of the pillars in their rebuilding process. Bringing someone like that in at any point would be counter productive, let alone this early in the process. For that reason, I think we might need to steer away from including Garland in these trade ideas.

What gives TB the better chance at winning this year and the next few years Ross Colton or a 23 2nd ? If your answer is Colton TB declines. If your answer is the pick, you're either completely delusional or purposely lying and TB still declines.

Hawks obviously decline. They aren't trading 1st overall. End of story.

Tampa also declines. If they are forced to trade Colton, they'll get far better offers than this.

I think in the Chicago trade it was supposed to be 19 OA not 1 OA

Even if it was supposed to be Tampa’s 1st rd pick (19th overall), the hawks would still say no. We would absolutely not be adding two 2nd rd picks (including the 35th overall) to move up 8 spots

A swap of Strome for Boeser has a lot of potential to improve the Ducks. You can't say anything remotely similar about swapping Strome for Myers which creates a hole in our middle six forward group to add a replacement level 3rd pair defender. Neither retention on Myers that we don't need nor a 2nd three drafts from now changes that. Vancouver needs those picks way more than the Ducks do.
