Description
Refresh on my Wheeling and Dealing post from yesterday.

Three way trade between Colorado, Seattle, and Anaheim. Tossed Andersson in as a minor sweetener for Colorado as a fast skating RHD, could work well in their system.

Pick up Ceci for Fowler, Rutta for 3RD, and bring Fowler back for Drysdale. Nothing on the D core is knocking things out of the park, but its a marked improvement on last season.

Most importantly, bring the kids up to the front of the pack and let them blossom. Lundestrom has shown he produces when he has talent to play with him, has a great 2 way game, and is one of our best faceoff guys. Lets bring him to the 2nd line for a season and see how he produces. Zegras moves to the wing to create the TMZ line and secondary faceoffs for McTavish. Jones gets a shot in the top 6 to see if he can build off of last year where he was playing with swagger and making moves on the ice.

Doesn't matter if we pick Carlsson or Fantilli, they report to San Diego for this season.

Its not close because comtois has a 2.4 million QO. If the habs want him they can wait a cpuple weeks when he definitely isnt qualified

Alright, fine, you sign Comtois when he isn't QO'd and we claim Ylonen off waivers when you send him down at the start of the season. Happy?

Y'all acting like I'm asking for some untouchable top 6 player, its an exchange of bottom 6 pieces.

laugh Cam Fowler for Cody Ceci, First off all Canadian teams are on Cam Fowlers no trade list. So he's not waiving for Edmonton He only has a 4 team trade list 3 Western and 1 Eastern and supposedly the Eastern team his hometown Detroit.

You could, I don't know, maybe read past the first line of the description and look at the trade, or the lineup, that might help you understand when I said "Pick up Ceci for Fowler" I clearly meant to be his defensive partner, not to trade Fowler for Ceci.......

Yeah i mis-interpeted When you said pick up ceci for Fowler meaning trading Ceci for Fowler which would've been a major downgrade for the Ducks.

It's not really an exchange of bottom 6 players though. Comtois is unlikely to receive a QO from the Ducks or any team he might be sent to, making him basically a UFA, while Ylonen has a QO under 1M and is likely to receive it. If it's just a swap of bottom 6 forwards in similar situations you want, then Gurianov for Comtois would work, since both are unlikely to get a QO. If it's Ylonen you want you'll need to offer more than a guy who is likely a UFA in a month.

And Ylonen looses his waivers exempt status this season, so unless he makes the main roster out of camp, he is claimable. If he's got a long term spot on Montreal's roster then the deal doesn't make sense, but everything I've read on him indicates he doesn't have a long term spot, he's just a placeholder at the moment, and hasn't impressed enough to push himself onto the roster full time.

I'm fine with giving Gurianov a shot, but claiming Ylonen is infinitely more valuable because his QO is lower is just nonsensical. We're talking depth players, not headliners.

Hoffman and Armia are more likely to be waived than Ylonen at this point I think. Also, I never claimed Ylonen was infinitely more valuable than Comtois, just that he has more value. Teams don't typically trade young players that have a chance to make their roster out of camp for what amounts to negotiating rights with a UFA.

That right side of the defense really does not look appeasing outside Drysdale. I’d rather get one of Rutta or Ceci and sign Severson or Dumba.

I can’t see Seattle moving Bjorkstrand right now and I’m not sure Colorado accepts.

I'm really not seeing why this is an "easy no" for Colorado. It's a cap neutral trade for the same duration, and Strome has a good body of work showing he produces well as a 2C with talent on his wings. Even with Landeskog on LTIR all next season you guys don't exactly have cap space to throw around, and the 2C UFA market is non-existent this year.

I personally would prefer for Helleson get a shot at the bottom pairing with LaCombe. But I can see why we wouldn't want to pair them together.
