I’m sorry; what?

What thats a fair trade you would have been cool with had it happened last year

The NYI 1st
A 2nd, 3rd,
Blake biondi
Rem pitlick

For Seider.

Totally fair.

I’m not saying they would or should do it; I was just responding to the comment that the return was pitiful because it isn’t.

But it is. If Nick Suzuki was TRULY on the market, there would be an immense bidding war. Centers with his age and talent rarely go on the market and when they do it's at a premium. The fact he never misses a game, is a playoff performer, and is incredibly consistent despite playing on dog**** injured habs team and is locked for 7 more years, the GMs would cream themselves at the opportunity to trade for him.

I think that’s a terrible comparison. Seider is still on his rookie deal and has the potential to become the best defenseman in the league or at least top 5. He is lightyears ahead of where Nick Suzuki was and ever will be relative to his position group. I can’t get on the same page with you here boss.

I don’t doubt that more could/should be added to the deal (a deal I am aware would never happen), but my opinion is that it isn’t “pitiful”. We can agree to disagree.

Chicago declines
Montreal probably accept
Vancouver jump on that deal
The Arizona deal is pretty even. Could see them accept and decline

Wings and hawks both decline trade.
Vancouver trade: maybe but probably not without significant retention.
MTL and ARZ trades: there’s a lot going on but I highly doubt Yzerman trades away all of his picks.

Literally no GM would trade away Suzuki for a return so pitiful. Maybe Chiarelli or Benning.

So Suzuki is worth more than DeBrincat coming off a career year PLUS the equivalent of 2 additional 2nds?

Its not a exaggeration. By that logic the hBs cpuld have gotten seider for the 13th pick last year if they had added a 2nd and 3rd along with some btier and bust players

Except Seider is better than Suzuki, this draft is significantly better, and you know nothing about Detroits prospects if you’re calling Lombardi “pitiful”. Suzuki is not worth the equivalent of 2 2nd more than DeBrincat coming off a huge season.

Except that Seider is better than Suzuki, this draft is deep than last year(by a wide margin), and you didn’t offer a top 10 prospect in your org.

I’m going to go against the grain here and say the Blackhawks should accept this trade.

HEAR ME OUT FELLOW HAWKS FANS!! PLEASE!!! HAVE MERCY!!

I have a lot of love for Seth Jones. I think he has the potential to return to top 10 Norris voting form if given the right system/teammates. In addition, he could provide a great deal of value to the Hawks by playing the heaviest minutes and sheltering + mentoring some of our upcoming D prospects.

HOWEVER

When our upcoming prospects (Reichel, Korchinski, Bedard) are entering their prime production years, Jones will likely be in the last several years of his deal, as a 33-35 year old. Not many D-men age like Giordano. At that point in time, the Hawks may find it more valuable have that ~$5M in dead salary and have the other ~$5M to spend on free agency or re-sign some of the many 1st rd picks we have coming up.

In addition to freeing up that future salary, we would also acquire a top 20 overall pick in a highly lauded draft, and another pick + prospect.

All told, I would accept this trade as the Hawks.

@Hawksguy81@GARAK @Aussie_Blackhawk thoughts?

Suzuki is not on the trade market. Therefore to get him a team would have to massively overpay. Young 2way 23yo center locked for 7 years dont come around very often. I would say Suzuki is worth more than Debrincat. Literally any team in the league would rather have Suzuki than Debrincat if given the choice.

Saying zadina at almost 24 by next season start has top 5 upside still is quite frankly pretty stupid.

The odds of 9th overall being better than suzuki is miniscule.[/quot

One of benson, leonard, perreault or moore should be available, all will be better than Suzuki

Overrating Suzuki, hes a below average 1st line C. maybe 70 points max per season

There’s no doubt Suzuki is a good player but when there’s an argument to be made between who is better between he and Dylan Larkin, I think that tells us exactly where he stands comparatively to the Centers in this league. He’s good; not great.

I’m not saying he isn’t worth more. Just not THAT much more after DeBrincat’s 21-22 season. Just because someone “isn’t on the market” doesn’t mean they’re immune to ACGMs.

You are underrating Suzuki. He's gonna be a ppg player for a long time. He JUST got 66 points in 82gp this year with a dog**** injured team. You dont think a full season of Caufield on his wing and having a proper PP QB could net him another 15 points? He's 23 lmao. You are the kind of guy of calls on local sports radio and wants to trade Caufield and Suzuki for picks. Absurd.

IF Suzuki gets traded, it's a hockey trade. 1 for 1.

MTL likely isn’t trading Suzuki. He’s a good player he may not even be top 20 at his position, definitely not top 10. His ceiling is average to slightly above average 1C.

Undersized 7th round pick passed over already in the nhl draft. Just screams blue chip prospect. Comfortably taking the under on 20 career nhl games
