Maybe because he has been drafted in 2020 and Durzi in 2018?
Barron just breaking in the lineup, on pace for 14 goals this year and doing well. Many teams would value him, especially being RHD.
MTL is not gonna trade him. They have a **** ton of good D prospects but it doesn't make sense to start shipping them out when you've just acquired them.

Bolts arent trading Perbix when they're so thin on RD, Devils have L.Hughes, Siegenthaler and Bahl as LD they dont need another one who will command a big raise and I also dont see Carolina giving 8.75M for Lindholm when they're pretty set at center with Kotkaniemi performing really well this year.
I could see the Leafs one happening.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Somerset</b></div><div>Has an injury history and a career high of 38 points. I highly doubt a straight up trade is all LaF can fetch.</div></div>
In 58 games, prorated to 82 games he was on pace for 53 points. He got better as the year went on, probably would have finished aroud 55-60 pts.
I love when someone brings up a stat to dump on a player but doesn't include the games played to paint the full picture.
Montreal doesn't do Laf for Dach straight up.

It is but that's what Barry Trotz is asking. But if a goalie is worth close to that haul it's Saros. Dude is amazing and plays a **** ton of games.

That offer doesn't even get you Saros. Only things of vaalue here are Jarvis and the 1st. This is what was reported about Saros a week ago.
[Michael Gallagher] After speaking with a couple different sources, it’s believed it will take a package of at least two first-round picks plus 2-3 blue-chip prospects to even get the conversation started about a Juuse Saros trade.
Canes only ''blue-chip'' prospects are Nikishin and Morrow.

Just A Bit Outside The Box
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JeffGorton</b></div><div>He just got 66 points because of Caufield. Suzuki overperformed every analytical stats offensively. Both of their shooting % was 16%. No way they can keep that up. Suzuki is a career 10-11% and caufield will be a career 13-14%
And the way he plays, he shouldnt even be playing Center. He plays along the boards and never occupies the middle. And hes too slow to make it up defensively. So in an ideal world, hes on the right wing anyways. And even then, he still wont be a ppg player because hes not that good at driving offence on his own. Dach and Caufield are the only ones on the roster rn that could get ppg.</div></div>
Maybe you should watch more games instead of posting garbage takes like this here, maybe you'd understand hockey better.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JhonnyCanuck5</b></div><div>1) turn cap lock off
2) the Habs should be looking for futures since they’re about a decade away from competing for a wild card spot.
3) LOL at Montreal being the Mecca of hockey.
4) “proven himself” to average .7 points per game(across 4 years, he’s not a rookie). That’s good enough to be a very solid 2C.
5) thinking that you can get a teams top player just because you’re giving your top player is silly. If that’s the case, the Sharks should be trading Karlsson for McDavid, after all they’re both teams top players</div></div>
Habs 10 years away? You are delusional lol.
I know you hate the habs but atleast try to hide your bias a bit.

He thinks NHL23 trades are real life lol.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IDKtbh</b></div><div>Suzuki has like 8% of the value Seider has. Lol. Trust me, no GM is as simple minded as you are to even bring up Seider in trade talks whereas, Suzuki can certainly be had for the right price; and that price is certainly not Moritz Seider. Accept that your ACGM was crap it's okay. If Kent Hughes made that trade I would expect Molson to promptly fire him.

He doesn't need to be top 10 at his position. Habs made the finals with him and Danault lol.
Plus the Habs are getting Dubois on the cheap. Both arent superstars but a 1-2 punch of them is gonna be painful to play against.

You are underrating Suzuki. He's gonna be a ppg player for a long time. He JUST got 66 points in 82gp this year with a dog**** injured team. You dont think a full season of Caufield on his wing and having a proper PP QB could net him another 15 points? He's 23 lmao. You are the kind of guy of calls on local sports radio and wants to trade Caufield and Suzuki for picks. Absurd.
IF Suzuki gets traded, it's a hockey trade. 1 for 1.

Suzuki is not on the trade market. Therefore to get him a team would have to massively overpay. Young 2way 23yo center locked for 7 years dont come around very often. I would say Suzuki is worth more than Debrincat. Literally any team in the league would rather have Suzuki than Debrincat if given the choice.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IDKtbh</b></div><div>I’m not saying they would or should do it; I was just responding to the comment that the return was pitiful because it isn’t.</div></div>
But it is. If Nick Suzuki was TRULY on the market, there would be an immense bidding war. Centers with his age and talent rarely go on the market and when they do it's at a premium. The fact he never misses a game, is a playoff performer, and is incredibly consistent despite playing on dog**** injured habs team and is locked for 7 more years, the GMs would cream themselves at the opportunity to trade for him.

Nick Suzuki, ironman streak, never missed a game, good 2way, good playoff performer, will score 30/40+ for years to come on a contract that will age beautifully as the cap continues to go up. And he's the captain.
Why exactly would the Habs do this? And to a division rival no less?
If a Nick Suzuki trade would happen it would have to be a hockey trade. Like Weber for Subban. Not picks and prospects.
Kent Hughes has been trying to acquire players who are already a bit further along the development path, like Dach.

why is he still in the NHL
Jackets did the same mistake Habs did with Kotkaniemi. He looked good in preseason, Habs didn't have any centers, they kept him all year, good first rookie season (about same amount of pts), but you could see KK was gassed at the end of the season and he was always a step behind trying to catch up the others.
Jackets need to send him to the AHL.
