Jackets did the same mistake Habs did with Kotkaniemi. He looked good in preseason, Habs didn't have any centers, they kept him all year, good first rookie season (about same amount of pts), but you could see KK was gassed at the end of the season and he was always a step behind trying to catch up the others.

Jackets need to send him to the AHL.

Is it the sophomore slump or the fact that he really isn’t that guy

So if Bedard goes to ARZ or CBJ, he's ruined?

He’s had two confirmed concussions so far this year, including one that caused him to miss all of preseason. We agree he absolutely should’ve been in the AHL two months ago, but he is looking more alive on the ice since the break. No points, but his positioning, effort, and vision are notably better.

First of the year super injured and probably needed to go to the AHL to recover but we didn't have the center depth to do so. Now he's doing everything he's supposed to with positioning, defense, ect but just not getting any goals/points. He's fine but I wouldn't be shocked if he goes down to Cleveland and Pederson takes some reps especially if we ended claiming/receiving a random winger from EDM to save his career for example.

it's a sophomore slump.

last year he mostly played with bjorkstrand and voracek. this year he's been with a revolving door of AHL guys (foudy, bemstrom, meyer) and other rookies/young guys (chinakhov, marchenko, johnson). he plays a north-south game and is at his best when he either has space or is going to the net. without having a veteran playmaker, he's being put in situations that he's not ready for.

i think the AHL is a good option, but would rather see him put in better NHL situations first. he's had better usage in the last few games and has looked a lot better, just isn't showing up on the scoresheet.
