Chicago declines
Montreal probably accept
Vancouver jump on that deal
The Arizona deal is pretty even. Could see them accept and decline

Hawks definitely decline. Retaining almost $5m for 7 years is out of the question

Why exactly would MTL accept that?

Suzuki isn’t an allstar. He is a very good first liner. Getting 9 overall, a second and a third in a very deep draft is incredible. I love Suzuki but he isn’t worth more than a guy like Debrincat or Connor

Lomardi looks like a good prospect and 9th overall. And a former 5th overall with upside. Id take it. Suzuki is overrated by Habs fans

You draft Leonard or Moore at 9 and michkov at 5

Take out the 2nd and 3rd and replace it with DET's 17th overall and habs accept. Otherwise its a no

Saying zadina at almost 24 by next season start has top 5 upside still is quite frankly pretty stupid.

The odds of 9th overall being better than suzuki is miniscule.

Not only is the value not fair, even if it was, canadiens reject. No point to move their captain.

Literally no GM would trade away Suzuki for a return so pitiful. Maybe Chiarelli or Benning.

I agree I think Vancouver should sit tight and not pay to move anyone. I don’t see any sense in rushing into any transaction like that but it seems to be a popular trade option for them on this site.

I might not be enough but let’s not act like that is a pitiful package. A bit of an exaggeration to say the least.

Its not a exaggeration. By that logic the hBs cpuld have gotten seider for the 13th pick last year if they had added a 2nd and 3rd along with some btier and bust players

Nick Suzuki, ironman streak, never missed a game, good 2way, good playoff performer, will score 30/40+ for years to come on a contract that will age beautifully as the cap continues to go up. And he's the captain.

Why exactly would the Habs do this? And to a division rival no less?

If a Nick Suzuki trade would happen it would have to be a hockey trade. Like Weber for Subban. Not picks and prospects.

Kent Hughes has been trying to acquire players who are already a bit further along the development path, like Dach.

I’m not saying they would or should do it; I was just responding to the comment that the return was pitiful because it isn’t.
