The core of that Sens deal is essentially swapping Forsberg and Batherson for Kuemper and Wilson, with a little extra depth added for good measure.

Forsberg for Kuemper is a pass for me. Kuemper is 33, and while he's obviously had some notable recent success, that's absolutely not a goalie I expect to age gracefully into his mid to late 30s. At 5.25mil til 2027, that's a pretty firm no for me.

The Batherson for Wilson debate is also pretty cut and dry for Ottawa. Batherson is 4 years younger, has a cheaper contract with several years left, he's a more talented offensive player than Wilson ever was, and he's in much better shape from an injury perspective. I love the way Tom Wilson plays (when he's not playing dirty at least), but there's no justification here to make that swap. Milano and Dowd are fine depth guys but do absolutely nothing to move the needle here.

That's not a deal I see Anaheim taking, Oshie is in steep decline at this point and is rarely healthy.

Comtois QO is 2.445 as well, if you want a one year deal, that's the minimum you sign him for.

Pit would accept that.
I actually love Petry and Granlund in Wash system better than Pits.

this is extremely unrealistic. wilson won’t get traded e less it’s for an extreme overpayment. these trades are so random and make the team worse going into next year.

None of these trades happen, and that Pittsburgh trade is absurdly bad for the caps.

Yeah, it's not an insulting offer by any means (not always the case on this site lol) but for the reasons you mentioned, can't make that deal

Also, the Winger the Sens need to move is DeBrincat. Batherson's contract is extremely valuable for a team who wants to contend.

Like most players, he needs to play in the "right system" and be supported by the right players. Bring in a GM and coaching staff who can do that

Batherson is the guy who missed Norris the most last season. An elite 2-way center is hard to replace, even if Pinto is good and has plenty of potential

Not a fan of the Pens deal but I guess I’m in the minority on that. The Sens deal sucks for us, and that isn’t great for the Ducks.
