laugh laugh Sure TROLL

Even with the 3rd overall pick added, Elias Pettersson is worth more than that joke of an offer.

laugh Yeah Patrik Allvin is going to eat $21,000,000 on JT Miller for that worthless crap. Trades are a joke. Including the Quinn Hughes one as well.

It called a rebuild. You get players for the future. Of course it looks lopsided right now but you play it out.

As far as Miller goes, Van is going to have to retain on his contract in order to move him. No one is wrapping up 8 mil in cap space on a guy that will be 37 by the time it ends.

Pettersson to CBJ would cost 3ova and jiricek as the base, Hughes your probably another high assets off, Miller retained that much is worth way more to the point the pens don't have the pieces.

Pettersson returns 3rd overall Kent Johnson and jiricek at a minimum but nice try with that one. Change bahl to mercer and you might be close to Hughes and add another 2 1sts if you want Vancouver to retain that on miller.

The Devils are just never going to give up 3 A level assets and 2 B level assets for Hughes. They'll wait for him to be UFA and be perfectly happy. Nemec alone is projected and developing on the correct path to be nearly as good as Quinn Hughes is, You then added in a projected Top 6 30-goal scorer, a first, a fantastic shut down defenseman who can shut down top lines and a goalie (which is the teams biggest need) who showed fantastic promise through 30+ games this season averaging somewhere above a .915 as a rookie. Quinn Hughes is worth a lot, but just not that much.

1.) young, 6'6", mobile 3rd pair defenseman
2.) young sniper with skating concerns but lots of pedigree (7th OA 3 years ago)
3.) young RHD who had one of the best u20 seasons for AHL dmen (2nd OA 1 year ago)
4.) young, athletic goaltending prospect who posted a 0.921 in the playoffs (9GP) and 0.922 in the regular season (18GP)
5.) a first round pick

This isnt enough??? that's the biggest trade package of the cap era and probably one of the largest ever.

Okay so a 3rd paring dman, a winger who hasn't done anything at the nhl level and is not of need to us, a blue chip prospect, a 1st and a back up goalie is one of the biggest package in league history? lol it's not even the biggest package in the past year. To start it's going to take a huge overpay for Vancouver to even start to listen to the guy that was tied for 2nd in points in the leauge this year, fastest defenseman to 200 assists in leauge history, is cost controlled on a fantastic contract for the next 4 years, and who is likely our future captain at only 23 years d, there is no value here for Vancouver, the only thing of remote interest here is Nemec and a 1st how ever that won't be enough for Vancouver to move him, if tkachuk can get a 115 point winger, a top 4 dman, a 1st and a b level prospect there is no reason why Hughes would be traded for anything less than that type of value

Can you name a more valuable player that was traded? Of course it is going to be gargantuan return, the Canucks have no incentive to trade Hughes. Any team would have to pay more than Market value. As of right now, Quinn Hughes is a 23 years old, basically a point per game as a defenseman, has NHL records for point production, and has become very solid defensively. He is also locked up for the next half of the decade. While this value isn't bad, the Devils are going to lose any trade that involves acquiring Quinn Hughes

1. A prospect as good as nemec was last traded....? So that already gives it a leg up
2. another top 20 prospect in Holtz (that's where he's ranked by almost all sources) also hasn't been traded in recent memory. He'd be a centerpiece of a deal
3. a 23 year old with a .922 sv% in 27 games this year
4. a cost controlled quality dman with size
5. AND a 1st

find a comparable package.

Lets look at the jack eichel package.
as a prospect Holtz was rated even with Krebs if not higher
1st=1st
Schmid=2nd
Tuch at the time was not a major piece, 27 year old middle 6er. =Bahl

Learn what cost control is.
How much surplus value is huberdeau expected to bring in making 10.5 mill?
How much is weeger expected to bring in making 6.25 million

Holtz Nemec Schmid and Bahl make a combined 4-5 mill.
So lets add 12 mill, on lets say Damon Severson and Tyler bertuzzi.

Holtz Nemec Schmid Bahl Severson Bertuzzi

OR
Huberdeau and Weegar

Mark Stone
Erik Karlsson
Jack Eichel
Matt Tkachuk
Patrick Laine (arguably)

The first two were older, which is fair, but the latter 3 were all basically exactly what youre talking about with Quinn. Young, great, players.

As you said Stone and Karlsson were older
Eichel requested a trade and needed neck surgery
Tkachuk refused to sign in Calgary and requested a trade
Laine had requested a trade

None of them were more valuable than Hughes. MAYBE Karlsson but because of age I’d say Hughes
