  1. Foudy, Jean-Luc
  2. Malinski, Sam
  3. 2023 1st round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Ducks get a late 1st and Cronin gets an AHL Allstar center he is familiar with to fill a depth forward role. Malinski reportedly signed with the Avs for playing time and to be developed by Cronin. So this is probably in the only spot in the league he would be moved to.

I would accept that offer as the Anaheim GM.

If I were GMCM I'd try to push it to the '24 1st but it's not the worst deal in the world.

I like Stome to Col, we were discussing it a week or two ago. I think it's a good fit, he's shown he produces well with talented wingers, which Colorado has.

That said, I think this deal is an overpay. We'd want the 23 even though it's a late pick, but you can decontent the prospects and/or add to items from Anaheim to balance.

I think a pick swap of the Colorado 23 picks (1st and the 2nd we have) has a value of a mid 2nd pick which feels about right with some minor window dressing to suit taste.

I also pitched Strome for Girard as I think it makes sense for cap reasons, but I'm told Girard is worth significantly more.

How about this, they give us their 2023 1st, and Ducks give their 2023 2nd back to the Avs.

Yes, that's what I was saying in the third section.

I missed that. Great minds think alike.

I like the creativity, but I like to play the "Is he better than JT Compher" game...and all signs point to...maybe? I also like the "Is that guy a 2C on a Stanley Cup winning team" and it doesn't quite feel that way. He is a guy who has had one full season in the last 5, has not eclipsed 60 points and has 4 more years left in the deal. It feels a bit of just moving the deck chairs around, rather than a significant add.

IF a deal like this went down, I wouldn't hate it, but I wouldn't be jumping up and down either.
