Not sure I would trade Toews for that package on his own.
Edit: After considering it, I would not.

Toews even wthout an extension should probably get better quality over quantity. With an extension in place it would be a heavy no and if the extension were in place, why trade him anyway?

Toews is a legit top-10 defenseman in the league. His contract will likely be 6x8.5 or so. If the Avs cannot work that into their cap, then they should consider trading him, but lets treat him like a real asset. He should return a legit top-4 D-man and futures, not 60 cents on the dollar. There are 31 other teams that would be climbing over themselves to get Toews if he was available.

I think this is one of those deals that just doesn't make a whole lot of sense for both sides. Yeah, Tires is a great player, but he's entering his age 30 season. That's not going to to the Ducks a whole lot of good if he is in decline as our window opens.

Can we make that his new nickname? Devon "Tires" Toews.

Agree. If Verbeek wanted to pay a bunch of money to a 29-30 yr old defender he would have resigned Lindholm.

I’d rather keep Henrique honestly. I’m on the side of Anaheim fans who think we shouldn’t move him. However I do think Comtois in Colorado would be a good fit
