Description
I think it's common to send a team's worst player to another team without considering that other team's intentions (or cap implications, etc.). So I went ahead and tried ACGMs for all 32 teams. Some turned out better than others, but I generally tried to respect team's philosophies as best as I understood them and also respect NMCs and NTCs. For the Oilers, I moved out cap and added to the blue line.

Why would the Hurricanes
A. take on Jake Campbell's contract?
B. pay to take on said contract?

Need at least 2 firsts going to Carolina to be interested. Look at Petersen’s cost and add some

I think the playoffs showed that Campbell isn't a totally lost cause, and the Hurricanes have shown that they can make mediocre goalies look good: Nedeljkovic has been bad since he left, and Freddie Andersen has done way better than he did in Toronto. They could theoretically flip Campbell again down the road if they rehabilitate his stock. Or keep him if he's good!

that's fair but I'd rather go after a proven entity in goal given where the hurricanes are in their window

If the Blues made that trade I’d cancel my tickets

That's absolutely awful on the Blues trade. I don't think Foegle is a dump but you'll have a hard time finding a team with cap that needs someone like him. and a 24 2nd for 1.3m retained over 7 years for a top pair defenseman? tears of joy

That's a very easy no for the blues. That trade gives them very very very very little value

People say this like Freddie wasn't a .918 goalie in Toronto until the one season he was .917, and then the year he was made to play through injury and we all saw it in a documentary. Campbell is a sub .900 goalie. Carolina's strong defensive structure covers *some* warts, Campbell has some severe flaws

Please stop this series before you get the Blues. It's not worth it.
