Honestly, if you take out the Haula signing and Kane takes a smaller discount to play at home, this team is probably a straight up Cup Contender. Having said that, I have to imagine Philly declines. Levi and Quinn are great but at this point they probably don't have the value to grab Hart and Konecny based on Philly's plans

Which of the top 10 ways to ruin a franchise is this?

This is one of the first Carlo trades on here that doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out, so congrats on that lol. I honestly think the bruins would have to say yes, we just have such a clear need at centers with potential and Kulich has looked so good in the AHL. Plus you know we love our Czechs.

I just noticed the title is "what they shouldn't do" lol, I was wondering why a Sabres fan would be trading Kulich, that seemed kinda wild to me.

I actually really like this trade, jokiharju is a decent puck moving dman which is something we will need considering we most likely trade grzelcyk this off-season and orlov isn’t coming back most likely.
Kulich has transitioned well to NA so far in the AHL and has top 6 Center potential, can’t forget about the czech link aswell.

And the 2nd is decently high in a stacked draft, if Sweeney was smart he would accept we need to rebuild/ retool and go for youth which buffalo is offering us in this trade.

As much as losing Carlo will hurt, I got a good feeling about a lot of our young dmen coming up
Lohrei/ Brunet/ Mast/ Gallagher/ Edward, every season they seem to be taking big strides in improving their game

Carlos much better than Henri, and only Lohrei and Brunet of those Dman u listed have NHL potential

Also no guarentee that Kulich and/or the 2nd turn out to be NHL pros

Yes true but would you rather be stuck in mediocrity for the next 5 years or would you rather commit to a full rebuild, clear a bunch of cap and improve our prospect pool. Then we can potentially make a few big UFA splashes In the next few seasons as cap goes up big time and then hope that a few of our prospects can turn into something big.

Kulich put up really impressive numbers as a 18/19 yr old in the AHL. It was also his first year in NA so for him to adjust that well is good to see.

If Kulich/ poitras/ Harrison/ Beecher were our Top Center prospects going into next season id be pretty pumped

Dumping Carlo's 4.1mill for Henri's 2.5 mill is not really clearing cap, but it is getting worse on D for a few years

Im all for trading some guys to clear cap space and build a prospect pool, but trading Carlo within the div aint it

Ullmark, Hall, Grz, Forbort, Reilly, Zboril, DeBrusk are much better candidates

If you have a core of Mac, Pasta, Hamp, Carlo, Sway, BOS is gonna be in mediocrity based off that alone, no matter who else they dump around them (Coyle, Zacha, Marchand)
