I wouldnt trade Marner for Karlsson especially adding robinson and timmins with no retention.

If Murray with the Bos 1st is going to happen, it will be the NYR 2nd or even a 3rd as in all likelihood it would force the Hawks to buyout one of Mrazek or Murray and Murray is owed 6.5 million this season (5.33 to buyout)

SJ takes that all day. Can flip Marner at 50% retention. Bad trade for the Leafs though.

Murray's buyout is 687,500, not 5.33 mill

I'm talking actual dollars the owner will be asked to pay over 2 seasons for a player not playing to buy moving up a couple dozen spots in the draft. I could see the Hawks doing this as Wirtz has shown a willingness to spend money (unlike his old man), but think they would want to hold the Leafs feet to the fire for a later pick.
