Pass.

Exactly how much more do you want for Parayko beyond a replacement RD, a 1st round pick RD and another 1st?

I'm not trying to trade him. I'm trying to get him a proper partner.

That said, Peeke is NOT a replacement by any stretch of the imagination and the 1st is deferred just long enough for Columbus to lower the value of that pick by being a lot better with Parayko around. Ceulemans would be a solid prospect to have around, no doubt. But solid and an okay 1st ain't gonna cover the massive downgrade.

I don’t think it’s bad for Parayko. But I don’t see the Blues moving him while wanting to not undergo a full rebuild.

Peeke can’t handle the minutes Parayko plays and it’s going to cause Faulk to have to play tougher usage. Also almost ensures that we stink. But there’s certainly good pieces there

I think you've overvalued parayko at 30. Do you think the blues will be a top team next year or 2?

I haven't and the Blues don't. Whether the Blues quickly return to contending depends on this offseason. And more specifically on moving Krug or Leddy to get Parayko a real partner. If they do that, game back on.

I will say this much: don't expect the Blues to self inflict again like they did this past season. It was weird. They did weird stuff. And by the time they stopped doing weird stuff, the UFAs all got moved. Oddly, they played some of their best hockey after the deadline. It was just all weird.

I would really loathe both of those deals for CBJ. Parayko is overrated, and that's way too rich for Boeser when we already have a glut of wingers.

The PK bit is pretty easy to prove. He was 2nd among forwards on the Canucks with ~140 mins shorthanded behind only Pettersson. I'd wager he's at least competent defensively if he's playing that much on the PK or at least the Canucks see him that way.

*Although, the Canucks were the league's worst PK unit so maybe that speaks to his inability to play defense heh.

The burden of proof is on you haha. Finding out that he kills penalties should be pretty easy though. Try dailyfaceoff.com

Just the fact alone that he plays PK doesn’t mean anything.

Looks pretty bad defensively to me.

Fairly true. The problem with dom's model and jfresh is they tend to swing pretty wildly on defensive metrics. Just go through the team you follow and you'll be blown away by one or two guys that are clearly useless defensively but some how rate highly. Miller is relied on by his team as a PKer and since Tocchett arrived has played a solid defensive game. There is not reason why he can't it's more system and culture.
