I know it really doesn't matter on here, but serious question. Would Blackwood not fetch NJ more than a 7th? I know hes RFA but the team still owns his rights. Young, controllable, very good goaltender when healthy.

I do think this is very reasonable for Yegor to TB. He would probably sign for about $2m bc he and his wife love Florida. He'd be nice depth and be a guy who could very much outplay that cost. His value to NJD is about that 3rd and 4th as the Devils would likely scratch him as they did in the playoffs.

His QO is too high, no one should sign that. He would just be a UFA then.

They would be dumb to pay that much. The "when" healthy is a MAJOR issue. He's always hurt and hasn't not shown he's a good goalie for year.

For any team in the bottom half of the league that's a great gamble to take for a year or two. Could absolutely catapult your franchise forward if the guy finds some sort of health. And at only 3.4 million, there would definitely be enough budget to get a second goalie at like 4 million.

I assume Mayfield gets at least 4.5m per year on his next contract. I would be shocked if he dips under that.

TB does this if Colton or Jeannot's demand is too much and there isn't a NHL ready foward coming back in the deal

Tampa Bay can't afford Yegor if they want to resign Colton and Jeannot. If Tampa loses either of those two, and Yegor agrees to sign for $2m per, then Tampa probably considers this.
