There's no reason to buy DeBrincat if we are selling Gibson.

Canucks would accept that deal IMO, unless Myers value for some reason is higher amongst NHL GM's.

You think? Gibby hasn't had a full season in the black for a few years but he does have a massive amount of talent. He was top 10 in high danger shot save % for the last 2 years. For a 2nd and 3rd, it might be worth it.

To be clear, a 2nd + a 3rd + a prospect is an overpay for Gibson. But not by a ton.

It's a rather nothing prospect to boot.

It’s too risky for the pens to take that chance. If the pens had assets and cap space to burn, then it might be worth it, but I wouldn’t pay more than maybe a mid-late round pick for Gibson unless Anaheim retains. Tbh it’s also the length of that contract that is the problem too.

I think Gibson has life in him. But, would I risk my job on it? Maybe. If it was for a 2nd and 3rd, I think the Pens would accept. Obviously, they would want to pay less but Ana can't take much less without looking bad to their fans.

Still, just a difference in opinion.
