It'll take more to get Werenski. I doubt he's available. Babs will play the living snot out of him. "Realgud player. Plays hard. Puts his foot on the gas and plays a full 60."

Ottawa paid a 3rd and a 4th last offseason to unload two years of Murray with a little money retained. In no world does the cost of unloading Murray with now only one year left jump to a 1st (regardless of the 4th coming back). MAYBE a 3rd if Toronto is feeling desperate but that return on one year left at under 5m isnt realistic.

By the same token the return on Debrincat isn't realistic at all. A future 1st, as opposed to one this year when you own two, and a a handful of players that don't really move the needle. Hard pass.

Well Toronto needs cap space and they are still a contender so there is a premium added to get that cap space. Now I have no idea why Detroit fans are still adding LHDs to DeBrincat trades when Detroit is the only team that needs LHDs less than Ottawa. But no team is paying more for DeBrincat than Ottawa did last year when he had a down year. Now thats just common sense.

He was very good in the playoffs. He was kinda meh for a while with Edmonton, but his recent play was very good. Some teams are probably regretting they didn’t pick him up for nothing when they had the chance.

I thought that DeBrincat trade would work for me but I'm kinda not sure anymore

Tkachuk - Stutzle - Giroux
Kubalik - Norris - Batherson
Greig - Pinto - Joseph
Crookshank - Kastelic - Zadina
Kelly

Kubalik and Zadina 2-way games are not really what the Sens need, they need to become better 5v5

I found that comment a bit weird "Less than Ottawa"

I mean Chabot + Sanderson + Chychrun + Brannstrom + Kleven

I mean, Walman + Maatta + Edvinsson + Chiarot are not in the same stratosphere

66 points is his third highest point total for a year, he had a slight down year for goals but also put up a career high in assists. All of this while trying to form chemistry with a new team after the first time in his life that he's been traded. "Down year" doesnt paint the whole picture.

Neither does the idea that Ottawa should automatically get less than they paid. The trade was considered a steal when it happened, why would they help facilitate an even bigger steal for someone else? Especially when a 8 year extension is attached to the trade compared to Ottawa acquiring him on an expiring deal with an even higher qualifying offer one year before free agency. If anything facilitating an extension a la Matthew Tkachuk last year would increase the value compared to when Ottawa acquired him and is definitely more than enough to offset the perceived lost value from a "down year".

Campbell was better than Skinner in the playoffs but by that time the coaching staff had lost all faith in him. He’s not 6 foot 5 like Skinner and doesn’t look all that imposing in the net — something the coaching staff will need to get over if they are going to ever have confidence in him again.
