This doesn’t do much for me but maybe if Pesce’s agent’s ask is ridiculous

This is comically bad. You would need to make Olofsson someone like Quinn for Carolina to consider this. Absolutely not getting a core piece of a team that has cup aspirations for someone that may not even make the Canes lineup and the 13th overall pick

No they would not, pesce is a rental at this point. You are not getting 13oa and a premium prospect for an expiring ufa like pesce. He's a solid defensive shot suppression dman, but his highest point total on a good Carolina team was 30 points in a full 82 game season. That's not premium package worthy

If Pesce is not going to sign an extension, then 13OA alone, is a great return. Some Canes’ fans need a reality check up in here.

That said, I don’t think the Canes should trade Pesce, they should extend him. But, if he wants more than the Canes’ front office will pay him, I’d trade him for 13OA in this draft alone very easily,

Sabres fans want to underpay for Pesce, and Canes want a premium for one of their cornerstone pieces. There simply isn’t a trade to be made here. Buffalo isn’t giving up their premium assets and the Canes sacrificing their contention years.

Yes, the Canes who are already trying to extend Pesce because he's going to stay in Carolina are not going to move him for less than a top prospect and a middle of the 1st round pick. He's one of the best defensive defensemen in the sport. Don't like the price? Fine. Get lost. We'll more than happily keep him.

Carolina is going to lose somebody since you can't sign everyone, getting assets for an expiring ufa is better than letting him leave in FA

Uhh... Carolina absolutely can sign everyone. They have a projected 47 million or something like that in space next summer with the cap staying the same. Say that goes up a million and call it 48.

Pesce 6 x 7
Aho 10 x 8
Jarvis 5 x 3
Necas 7 x 7.
That's less than 30 million. Skjei and Teravainen won't cost a combined 17 million. They can easily afford everyone.

I stopped reading after seeing that ridiculous Kane signing......with all of the talk from Adams about his disdain for short-term rentals and quick fixes as well as being responsible with his cap dollars so he can keep space for his young core to be extended in the next 1-2 years, why would anyone think bringing in a 34-year old coming off major hip surgery (from which few players have been able to recover 100%) at $7.5M makes any sense? Even as a pure marketing ploy, the modest ticket revenue and jersey sales from those fans always wanting the "hometown boy" wouldn't offset that kind of investment. Nevermind the fact that Kane has never once said he grew up dreaming of playing for the Sabres or would love the chance to do so.....

This dead horse premise has long been beaten beyond belief and should have been buried years ago.
