Agreed, and I could see something like this being of interest to the Canes. There are a tremendous amount of preceding steps before we get here on both side, but if neither side is uncomfortable with extension talks - I could see the Canes and Leafs flipping Pesce and Nylander FINALLY!

Pesce for Nylander is a million times more likely than any of this garbage being posted about Marner to the Canes.

Even if they did (considering they lost every game in the ECF by 1 goal without arguably their best player in Svechnikov) Carolina stay away from rentals like the plague, Nylander has consistency issues as it is, and there are other, probably better fits. Tarasenko, Dubois, DeBrincat to name a few. It's an overblown narrative.

Also, the narrative is they need goals in the playoffs. Nylander struggled with 5v5 playoff production this year
