What will be the cost... even that we have plenty LD... for me Chabot is still an elite TOP4 D.
Both on a expensive contract!

Isn’t chabot apart of your core? Joesph seems like great depth. So what you gonna retool and stay out of a playoff spot even more?

'an elite d' in my book means an all-star, minimum.
'top4' means top60 dman in the league.
'an elite top4' doesn't make sense.

terms that are overused in the nhl by the media and the fans:
'elite', 'all-star', 'generational', 'best two-way player', 'elite goaltender'....
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD stop using clickbait words

Lol Montreal doesn't have a Dman even remotely close to Chabot's level. Not that Ottawa would move him to begin with

I know two French words and had an opportunity to use both. Never know when that scenario will arise again, so I went for it.

Chabot? tears of joy shakes head
He's so overrated I love it as a Habs fan. You won't win with dmen like him who can't defend and protect the puck.

We had our Chabot (Petry), but we traded him away for a better Chabot (Matheson)

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you but would like to see your reasoning behind saying that Matheson is better than Chabot

Nah Matheson isn’t better than Chabot, but in the same mold as Chabot. But Matheson was really good this year with the Habs, he had a better year than Chabot (but Chabot is still the better dman)

Agree he did look good would be better for the Habs if he could stay healthy. They've got a great young defence core going forward! Coming from a sens fan I am looking on in envy of the job Kent Hughes has done. Not a big fan of Pierre Dorion personally

Kent Hughes did really good in his 1st year
The Slafkovsky & Mesar pick are the only meh move but we need to wait and give them time
