Not really, that's basically worse, and they don't have to, but he is too good for this sort of trade. Avs really should only be moving him for a much better center.

I wouldn't necessarily say Newhook is "too good for this trade". 16thOA in 2019 and has yet to surpass 33 points.
I'm not saying the Avs need to sell low on him, just saying I definitely wouldn't throw any more than a 2nd+ in the pot for him.

sure, you're right honestly. but, his potential is too high for essentially a replacement depth forward. His last season was hijacked by injuries around him. His wingers for a good portion of the season were a waiver wire pick-up and an ahler. They should really only move him for a 2nd liner in a package, and ONLY if they think Newhook has no chance of becoming a 2nd-line center or winger, or they can replace him with a young 2nd liner like PLD or Nylander, which they won't get as an offer. Just gotta make that bet internally.
