Detroit has less than zero interest in, or use for, Edmundson. Look elsewhere.

I hope, with every fibre of my being, that MTL does not waste 5OA on Zach ****ing Benson.

best defensive forward in the draft, elite mobility, vision, hockey IQ, great passer, great hands and shot. IMO the most whole pick and best bet at C in that range. unfortunately we're fooling ourselves if we think were getting Michkov because Bughes does not seem to like him

He was fine down the stretch and he'll be fine next season. People act like it was a 10x8 deal he signed, the contract was about 1m and 1 year too much, that's about it... it's fine.

We have a boatload of cap space. Not a factor. Chiarot was signed for size and toughness. But he should've brought Shea Weber with him because that's when he looked his best. He's not nearly as bad as casual fans pretend or think he is.

yeah because anderson or hoffman on that wing would be better. the team isnt good, not playing the young guys is as productive as shooting yourself in the foot.

he's definitely serviceable but god if it isnt just frustrating to watch him play. i will always look back fondly on chairot magically morphing into an elite goal scorer the likes of which has yet to be rivaled before the 2022 deadline

I don't want Michkov either. If those are our 2 options at 5OA I hope to hell we trade the pick. Would be a waste anyway.

It's tough arguing with my own fanbase sometimes... Benson is not what we need.

Are you telling me that one of the shortest teams with pretty good wing depth should not draft a short player that predominantly plays wing?

The Canadiens would make for an excellent equestrian team.

Chiarot didn't mesh with Seider. Thank God for Jake Walman. When Ben is at his best he's making the safe play and staying back. Using his size and physicality in front of the net and in the corners.

But for some strange reason he convinces himself at times he's EK65 and pinches more than a 75 year old Granny. Or makes bad decisions passing. These mistakes are what fans remember. Not the good things he does.

i dont know if hes still the best puck over glass pen taker in the league but that used to drive me through the wall. kind of like how he used to drive that puck along the wall without touching it and out of play. every other play. woof.

This is clearly just a troll, Dvorak and Savard have more value than a 2nd and 4th and Anderson has way more value than Mantha. Clearly someone p***ed in this user's cornflakes today.

Not a sub 6' winger, that's for damn sure. If we get Smith, wonderful. I think Rein is a stretch at 5 but I understand the positional requirement. Leonard would be a wonderful pick, finish our top line with a RW of size and stature. Other than that (or some catastrophic drafting by the 4 teams ahead of us) I would trade that pick with one of STL, DET, WSH and get an additional asset or two. We're a team of short dudes, KH would be tone-deaf if he drafted another one (MB did that enough for all of us).

being good at hockey and being tall are different things. yes hockey is a physical sport and yes there are some advantages to being bigger in certain scenarios but if youre better than the other guys on the ice its irrelevant how big you are. the big guys can play in the bottom six. Zach Benson will be an elite NHLer regardless of his size & imo hes the best option at fifth overall.
