Description
Looking to build a bridge team for Bedard's ELC. Tried to be as realistic with contracts.

Started off with moving Connor Murphy to PIT. I feel PIT will be looking to add to their blueline this offseason and he has a reasonable contract. He is also capable of playing on their 2nd or 3rd pair. Included in the deal was swapping the Chicago's 19th overall pick with PIT's 14th overall pick. to sweeten this deal I added Chicago's NYR 2nd round pick. That pick would land in the mid 50's. PIT would also send over their 2024 2nd and 3rd round picks, as well as defenseman Nolan Collins. Collins was a 6th round selection in 2022.

Korchinski I can see being sent back to the WHL for one more year of seasoning, while playing big minutes where he will continue to dominate.

I didn't resign Kurashev, I think he will be similar to Puis Sutter finding a similar role on a more competitive team.

Players like Nazar and Rinzel will be in the NCAA next season.

I chose not to address the goaltending situation at the NHL level, due to Kyle Davidson saying that he was going to run with the Mrazek / Soderblom tandem. However I did sign Tyler Parsons as another young goaltender.

Let me know what you think.

Why do you all want to kill this team before it has a chance to be built?

Pens need a Two Way left handed dmen, not right handed unless we were to move the likes of Petry or Jan Rutta. But as of right now, this trade is a no go

Blackhawks will bring back Kurashev, they wont let him walk to UFA.

I dont see Chicago giving out any long term contracts yet, so that's probably a no to Bert and Graves.

Chicago also has 3-4 young dmen that need a chance to play, adding any dmen via free agency takes away a roster spot.

You seem like a kid in a candy store with all these UFA's. Out of all those free agents I think only Domi is realistic.

Hawks definitely don't make that Pens trade. Can see them targeting pick #14 for sure, but Murphy won't be in the deal. Hawks will resign Kurashev. Of all those UFA's on your list, Hawks probably only target Killorn or Domi (not both) and maybe Reaves or Lucic.

Agreed, but imo one of Smith, POJ, or Petry needs to be moved before next yr and replaced with a TWD (or DFD)

I agree with that, but I see it being between POJ and Ty Smith with a Left shot dmen replacing them (Ideally Graves)

I'm not particularly high on Graves, and it seems like there are more RDs available, Brodie somehow, maybe Tanev, maybe Murphy, Demelo, maybe some others I can't think of off the top of my head

Im ok with the pens right side and if we were to swap it up, it would be for a younger two way oriented dmen and honestly, I doubt we move on from Petry or Rutta, so it comes down to who they want to upgrade the left side. For me, the options are, Grzecyk, Graves, Soucy, Potentially Hanifin or Zadorov, Brodie can also move to the left side as he is a lefty. Ideally I want Graves if we go the FA route and if the Flames decide to move on from Hanifin, He would be my ideal target.

Yeah, I doubt we move Petry, I could see Rutta either way, but ideally we move Petry for a DFD, bc I wouldn't want Petry to play with POJ or Smith, and I think Petry and POJ are both capable of top 4 time and POJ is younger

True, but like I said, in an ideal world, we would go out and get a legit top 4 left shot two way-DFD type dmen to play with Letang or Petry leaving POJ/Ty Smith to play with Rutta on the 3rd pair
