That is a steep price for a goalie.

I will be surprised if Okie plays more than 30 games this season. I think he only came back to make it to 1000 games.

The only way that happens is if he gets injured often and/or for long term - I just can't see Granato and Adams making him a healthy scratch or Okposo asking for time off.

Yeah, but Nash doesn't have to move him and he has another year of control after this season.

Agreed - and one the Sabres wouldn't pay, despite Saros' ranking as one of the best. They've committed to Levi in short-term and long-term - anyone they acquire will be with the mindset of being a backup and mentor to Levi, not the defacto starter for the next 3-4 years while Levi sits on the bench.

For sure. The price of Saros is probably close to not only acceptable, but one Nashville couldn't refuse. But it's also a cost Adams would ever spend with Levi in the fold. You have to think he's looking at some of the UFAs as well as mid-tier trade options. Don't think he spends more than the value of a 2nd round pick (maybe adds a mid to later pick(s)) on a goalie. Hopefully UPL and Comrie have some value to return.

With all of the eyes focusing on the big splashy names like Hellebuyck, Saros and Gibson, anyone paying close attention to Adams' words and actions to date would instead see him targeting less-headlining, under the radar names as reliable but reasonable options in goal. Think Vejmelka or Allen....

I could see Granato giving him a game off here or there, similar to how he played the kids early last season. If we are healthy they might give Okposo the odd game off to keep him fresh.

Exactly, I see Okie in an Anderson type roll this year. Sabres will hopefully make the playoff and they want okie to be fresh.

The occasional game off just for rest and recuperation i.e. on back-to-backs, yes, I can see that and that would make sense for both sides......but I was reacting to the notion that Okposo would only play 1/3 of the season. Barring injury, he'll probably see at least 60-65 games.......
