Description

I imagine KD tries to move up in the draft, I don't envision him taking all the picks, so it's possible he moves back and/or receives picks in future drafts in exchange.

My gameplan would be to weaponize the cap space available and collect as many 2025 and on draft picks as possible. By then, the hawks should be in much better shape and that will provide plenty of trade deadline ammunition for rentals to make a deep cup run.

Possibly, but every penny counts... I'm just happy we'll finally see some dominoes fall in the coming weeks.

Take out the 3rd…maybe. 333k is less than half a player on league minimum. Every wasted penny sucks, but so do wasted draft picks for a team with little draft capital. They can handle 333k.

And yes let’s get the ball rolling.

Mike Reilly would be a good acquisition for a team at 1.5m. Part of me wonders if a team with cap room retained 1/2 his salary, they could flip him into a good asset. He’s a good player that was buried before cap reasons. I think the easiest path is to cut him, but I could see a team be creative. I’d give up Cole Spicer to get off his contract

It's so weird how most teams in the league are close to oe over the cap but not a single one of them has a bad contract. Let them buyout the Yamamotos and reillys.. they'll come crawling for relief from the Campbells and Grzelcyks

It's already been reported that EDM doesn't want to buy him out and really wants to trade him. His hit is $566K I believe, if bought out. I think a lot of us on this site are really knowledgeable, but we have zero clue the value of salary retention/cap space/trades that prevent buyouts. Hell, Stan Bowman gave up Teravainen cause buying out Bickell would've cost $1M for two years.
