Don't really know why Dallas gave him away, Colorado wins this easily.

I wish they would have got something, anything at all, but it's not really a big deal. He had 4 points in like 30 games, half a point in the minors and is 27. Not much of an impact but he was a tenacious forechecker for us. Maybe he becomes something with the Avs, who knows.

There's a chance they did get something. Or to be more accurate, there's a chance the Texas Stars will be getting a player out of the deal. That's what happened with the Canucks last year. "Future Considerations" turned out to be an AHL contract.

Important Reminder: In trades like this, Future Considerations tend to be AHL contracts. So the Texas Stars might have a new player.

Improvement on Matt Nieto and cost next to nothing so well done by the Avs and from a division rival no less.

I suppose Dallas just wanted to free up the contract slot since they have a lot of signings this off-season.

I'm going to guess Olofsson wasn't going to sign so Dallas found a team he was willing to go to and sent him there ahead of July 1st. It's not much but it's better for Dallas to get something like an AHL contract or like 5 bucks instead of letting him walk and getting absolutely nothing.

I'd bet he was gonna go back to Europe if he stayed with Dallas. Dallas doesn't hurt their rep with the agent and gain a contract spot in the process.

Yeah, Colorado has one of the weakest prospect pools in the league, so what future considerations could Dallas possibly think of?
