People here will debate Fredericks value in length... some saying he´s a late 2:nd, some more than a second... but I feel he brings too much for the Bruins at his expected cap to be traded at all. The Bruins need to tie down players like him on reasonable contracts to survive going forward. I don´t see him for sale at all!!!

I like the NSH trade; good value for a trade-down and it moves out some cap.

But I'd keep the picks instead of trading for Frederic and just use the cap space to sign a UFA centre like Rodrigues.

Ya that is fair. I don't expect them to move him either. I think they will work out a short term deal to get them through a year or two of the cap crunch. But having said that there is a chance he shakes loose and I would love the Canucks to capitalize on that if it happens. I feel like a mid 2nd + high 3rd would be a pretty competitive offer.

I really like Frederic. I think he would be the perfect fit for Tocchets system which is why I would be willing to part with those picks but I totally get where you are coming from.

I think Nashville is giving up to much and taking back a dump to move up 4 spots

Drop 68 OA, 89 OA, and Garland from the proposal.

It's based of the Soderstrom trade at the 2019 draft. Arizona moved pick 14 and 45 for 11. They're jumping one more spot here and I expect the player at 11 to be a higher value player than Soderstrom which is why I have the 3rd round pick swap as well. Garland is a necessity in any type of these deals, yes he is overpaid by 950k but he also a proven middle 6 NHL player that brings much needed offense to NSH so I really just see him as neutral value in this deal.

Could potentially change the third round swap from pick 89 to pick 75 for pick 68. But really it all depends who is there at 11 and if it is someone that NSH really wants like Benson for example.

Nah hard pass on that. I'm okay with dropping the third round pick swaps but Canucks need to move salary in a trade down deal.

There's a big group of prospects that are pretty equal, once the draft moves out of the top ten. Moving up four spots isn't worth taking one of VAN's multi year cap dumps, baring Michkov falling to 11 OA.

The 15th and the 46th is all I would want to give to move up 4 spots. Garland is a dump so you’ll have to throw in a sweetener to move him. In this proposal there is no such sweetener

All depends who is available at 11 and how high on NSH board that player is. If they have a list of players that they are equal on then ya there probably isn't a lot of incentive to move up. But if the player at 11 (again I will use Benson as an example) is ranked on NSH board in their top 6 then they might very well be inclined to jump up and take them rather than taking a guy they have ranked 12 or whatever it is at 15th OA.

And that is generally how trade ups work. Teams don't trade up because they like the player just slightly more than who they might take at their alotted spot. They trade up because the guy still available is someone that they REALLY see upside in and they had ranked much higher on their board. If nashville doesn't see that in whoever is at 11 then they wouldn't even offer the 15 + 46.

Only way I would agree to this trade is if Moore is there

Sure. Doesn't really matter who is there whether it's Moore, Benson, Leonard, or whoever all that matters is it's a player that NSH has much higher on their board than 11. If it's not someone they have ranked highly then they aren't going to make any sort of trade up move.

Moore's my fav for 15 OA too, but there should still be enough other centers to choose from at that point. More than one of Heidt, Dvorsky, Danielson, Yager will be available then. If they're all gone, that just means someone else tumbled too far - like Benson.

I dont think the Bruins trade Frederic, but if this was offered they might just have to accept. Getting back into the top 60 of the 2023 draft alone is tempting without the 3rd

I'm really hoping the Canucks can pry him out of there. I think he would be a great option with tocchet and as 3C
